Aug 4 2008New 'Terminator Salvation' Someone Facing Someone Else Shot
Terminator Salvation is going to be so awesome. I hear there's this one scene where John Connor, played by Christian Bale, and this other guy, played by this other guy, totally look directly towards one another, and there aren't even any Terminator robots present to distract from the intense staring. It's going to be the best scene in the entire series.

I'm glad you liked this shot, it's one of my favorites as well. If I recall correctly, it took a multitude of takes just to get the lighting on Bale's pockmarked face to the right texture, to have the scene communicate what words cannot:
"YES, we are ENEMIES, but are we not also brothers in arms? Have we not spilled blood on the same battlefields, seen brothers torn from their sister's bosoms into the maws of death, all so Warner can rehash sequel after sequel on the desecrated corpse of our careers? When the guns fall silent, when aging stars cannot be dragged out of retirement, when the flame of the franchise is extinguished through the fumes of its own mediocrity, in the end...all we have is each other."
All that communicated through one brief scene. The magic of cinema. Powerful and thought-provoking stuff. Bless you for making us believe again.

It reminds me of that scene in Torchwood right before Cpt.Jack and Cpt.John made out and proceeded beat the living hell out of each other.......good times.

I'm telling all you. McG isn't Christopher Nolan. It's gonna lack a good solid storyline. And Christian Bale is practically caring this movie, anyhow. Don't believe the hype this time.
