Aug 6 2008New 'Mirrors' Posters, Reminding You to Fear Mirrors
Everyone knows that when Mirrors opens next week, it will quickly become the new gold standard for horror movies in which the antagonist is a mirror, but imagine for a moment you lived a grim existence where you were somehow unaware of the dangers mirrors posed, and that a movie on the subject were coming out. What might you think Mirrors were about based solely on these three new posters? I have some guesses:
Following a flood that traps Kiefer Sutherland and family in their home, the autistic son, Cody, begins warning his parents that a killer is in the house with them. Though initially dismissive of the claim, Sutherland begins to reevaluate his position after his wife is murdered. In the film's chilling climax, Sutherland runs through the house pursuing his wife's killer, following the splashing sounds that underscore Cody's cries of "There he is!" Finally, an aggravated Sutherland screams at his son, "WHERE IS HE, CODY!?" Cody points; Sutherland looks. It's a mirror! (It turns out he was the killer.)

Jack Bauer comes to terms with his meth addiction.

Kiefer Sutherland murders himself for being in Mirrors. Oops, I ruined Mirrors 2: srorriM!

I'm pretty sure the second poster tells this story:
"Mirrors stop working they way they normally should. Instead an image is spread across multiple reflective surfaces."
That's all I got.

"I'm thinking of using a broken mirror to symbolise the protagonist's fractured psyche."

This better not be like a movie adaptation of a Goosebumps book.

Well, it took a few hours of work but I actually took these posters and put them through photoshop, messed with the curves and layers, reflected them backwards on top of each other with some color overlays and was able to make out a demonic satan worshiping message in the water ripples. This looks really scary!

The posters are all terrible, but that's probably because everyone who's ever visited a website in the last six months already knows about the movie, thanks to 50,000 banner ads that show a chick ripping her own jaw off. That's always fun to watch.

Hahaha, these were hilarious and I'm guessing are better than the actual film. Your first scenario actually works pretty well with the tagline...

How many different light sources are in that first poster? I count at least 3.

I believe the first poster is for a serious drama about the perils of a child who can't stop pissing on the floor or his mum. Kind of like a preteen incest/watersports film. Uplifting stuff.
