Aug 26 2008'Argentine' Poster Has a Secret Code
Here's the new international poster for Stephen Soderbergh's The Argentine, which stars Benicio Del Toro as the guy on shirts. If you look closely, you'll notice Fidel Castro's miniature head popping out of the corner, which is your cue to press down and start with your poster controller, taking you to a battle against the secret character Smoke Che.
Sometimes my mind functions only in incredibly specific Mortal Kombat references, regardless of how obtuse or inappropriate they are, and I'm sorry for that.

Who would want to watch a made-up story about a college grad with a wealthy future turned poor freedom fighter who is motivated by the injustice of the disparity between the haves and have-not's? HA! We all know it is the rich who need a savior! To far fetched to be real. I'd rather watch more Richie Rich reruns.

Whee! This movie will invoke the fuzzy memories of bringing communism to Cuba, which worked out so well for all parties involved. Van a quitarte tus manos, Che!

God damn it! Why did they have to add "El Argentino" to the title? I was totally fine with the mass hippie populous of college campuses thinking that Guevarra was Cuban. Then again maybe I'm one of the few people from Argentina who don't think this mass murderer is a hero. I wonder if they'll show him killing women and children as he so liked doing.

Where's my "Communism killed 100,000,000 people, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt." shirt when I need it? Che was a murdering fascist thug. Here's a hint: REAL rebels don't believe in, or support, murderous authoritarian central governments made up of a few rich guys and military leaders.

#10 Julian, no estás solo!
Soderbergh directing = i wonder if in the movie Che is going to rob a couple of casinos and give the money to the poor. will george clooney be playing Castro?
I really hope people learn more about this guy's history through this movie. let's wait and see.

ps. people using shirts with Che's face on them are so fucking stupid. That kind of mass production that is capitalized by shirt-makers is exactly what he hated! read a damn book, idiots!

Wow, I love how everybody has an opinion on something they don't know crap about. First off, he's not Jesus as many a left-winger would like to think, but he's also not Stalin as many-a Cuban will have you belief. Do you people realize the importance of him in shaping the geo-political environment not only in "NuestrAmerica" but also the world. He did not support Soviet-style communism, nor Maoist theory (except for maybe guerrilla warfare) not too mention.... oh who am I kidding? This is all going over your heads.

17. Flip's more advanced side - August 27, 2008 8:59 PM
I am Flip's more advanced subconscious and here to explain to you what I was trying to post in 15. Here's a quick explanation as my conscious was unable to expel the incredibleness that was frothing to get out. I was just trying to say my superior intellect is beyond your grasping as I sit here in Starbucks with Apple laptop that's connected to my I phone as I wear trendy clothes waiting for my freshman economics class to begin. I was getting frustrated as my black rimmed glasses slid down my nose as I stroked my little goatee trying to fathom the complete uselessness of trying to educate you people about how stupid you are for living your consumer lives with your "gasoline". Why can't you people be more like me and just walk everywhere in your birkenstocks? It would be so much more simpler if you just enlightened yourselves to my level.

Number 17 was actually pretty dead on. Except I don't wear Birkenstocks, I wear Pumas
