Aug 20 2008Another 'Disaster Movie' Clip Alludes to Some Things
I expected the Juno simulation, the mentions of Brangelina, pregnant Spears and George Clooney, the nod to home abortion, and the random violence as phantom humor, but man, eBay? An eBay reference? Did they forget to squeeze that into Spy Hard and just now realize it? Well, if that's the standard, I hope they also remembered a joke about how everyone seems to have a cell phone these days, because has anyone else noticed that?

I didn't crack a smile during the entire clip. It's really convenient that this is called Disaster Movie, because it's quite a disaster.

It'd be way too easy to say this movie is a disaster.
But if the film's writers and director were commenting on it, that's exactly the road they would take. Everybody involved with this movie needs to be taken out and shot for the good of our civilization. This is a perfect example of why the world hates America.

Holy H Christ. This movie looks stupid. Just plain dumb.

Hey, even America hates Hollywood.

I can't count how many times I've used the phrase "painfully unfunny" to describe this film... here's another one!
This movie looks PAINFULLY unfunny. Like... giving me an ulcer, it's so unfunny.

So, if we all hate this movie...who is going to see this piece of trash? Those are the people we need to take out back and shoot.

Bird - the people that will see this movie are the ones who went to the following:
Scary Movie 2-4 (or is it 5 now?)
Not Another Teen Movie
Epic Movie
Date Movie
Meet the Spartans
and any other movie directed by Friedberg and Seltzer....
enter the firing squad please

I don't think this looks that bad, i laughed during this clip.

Black kids eat this stuff up. Seriously. I work in a theater and these shitty movies always seem to bring out the African American teenager crowd. Maybe two-thirds of the audience some nights.
God I hate these movies though. Nice to see kids enjoying themselves, but most teens just text and talk through the movies. Since everyone's doing it, the ushers are never asked to intervene. Movie theaters are dead.

i like how by disaster, what they really mean is.
"bad things happen to celebrities, while we fling bad pop culture references at you" despite implications that it would be some sort of parody of disaster flics.
as much as i don't like a lot of comedy these days, and im getting tired of judd apatow, and diablo cody types, i have to say that THESE people, need to cease to exist, poof. all memory of their existence erased

jerry:
i don't think thats true at all. if you go to late showings on weeknights for movies worth seeing you get a much older more respectful crowd. working there you must know that. i know that whenever i turn out for a movie, to avoid the teenagers theres always a dozen or two likeminded individuals also wishing to escape the texting and snickering throughout every fucking movie.

I could actually feel the smile drain from my face while watching this. Not many videos can do that to me.

Not Another Teen Movie and Scary Movie 3 were actually pretty funny movies - don't cram them in with shitstorms like Date Movie.

Really, a Spy Hard reference?

Oh god, why did I watch that? I feel like taking a baseball bat to the local theater on release day and break the kneecaps of whoever buys tickets for this.
