Aug 5 2008American Gladiator Might Be Captain America, Conan
/Film has received a tip that Mike O'Hearn, better known (only known) as the American Gladiator Titan (aka, the one who occasionally turns into a blonde Hulk), revealed to an Omaha radio show that he's up for the leads in Conan and Captain America.
I don't know about this. Sure, he has the physique, but an American Gladiator playing Captain America. I mean, yeah, when I say it like that it sounds like it makes perfect sense, but come on. What are this guy's qualifications? Let's see what NBC.com has to say:
With nearly godlike strength and skill, he is the ultimate warrior. Able to physically dominate foes with his impressive physique, he is equally adept at mind games and will attempt to mentally defeat opponents before the battle even begins. Titan is a double threat who will find a way to win... one way or another.
Well, I guess it doesn't matter if we like these casting choices or not; he's going to take the roles one way or another regardless. Unless this is just another one of Titan's famous mind games...

hmmm... I don't hate the idea on either role.
I think he's too 'pretty' to play conan and too Bulked up to play Captain America... but I could deal with it if he was cast

I think they should get someone a little more qualified.
I mean, he'll be interacting with the likes of Ed Norton and Robert Downey Jr, and I don't wan to see Iron Man or The Hulk be the leaders of the Avengers.

Captain America just ain't all that big a dude. Any actor with the height and without a beer belly would probably be able to work out enough for the role. No reason for this airhead to flit about like he knows a thing about Captaining a whole America.

If Brian Singer is directing, this guy would have a shot. Assuming that Brian can't smuggle in an Asian boy again onto the set, ala SR.

Actually, I'm from Omaha and I listen to the radio morning show this guy was on. If anyone's interested, the morning show is Todd and Tyler on Z-92, and their podcast is on iTunes. Anyway...this news is old and outdated. Todd and Tyler are on vacation right now, and the interview is from a show that was originally aired before the last season of American Gladiators aired (at least 3 to 4 months ago). In addition, the only news the guy leaked was that he had meetings to go speak with the producers of Captain America and Conan. So yeah...any news on either of these movies with the last 3 or 4 months is more legit than this.

Now that would be a great casting for Conan. Can anyone else see Ultimate Warrior as Conan? A little power & paint action going on. Of course Conan would somehow have to find himself in a wrestling ring so he can hulk out on a set of ring ropes...

Captain America is one of the most complex characters in comics. To see him be played by an american gladiator would be an insult to the character.
And he is in fact that big. 6'2 240 compared to this guys 6'3 250. Pretty close physically, but he does not have the acting chops.

That World's Finest trailer is awful, AWFUL crap. I don't care if it cost $100K to make, it was a waste of money. It's poorly acted, poorly shot and reeks of fan-made garbo. If I was WB's legal department, I'd be firing off cease and desists just to get my logo off the front of that steaming pile of donkey shit.
People need to quit being so hung up with how a character is supposed to look according to the comic. The Joker is supposed to be a lanky mother, but Health Ledger isn''t. It's the acting that matters, and I'm telling ya, this guy can't act, no matter how much you think American Gladiators is the next Royal Shakespeare Company.

If he does get both parts, it wouldn't be his first time playing superhero characters. I found a fan-made trailer for a Superman/Batman Team-up. Definitely NOT DC Comics authorized, just a trailer made by a fan of the characters. Mike O'Hearn plays Superman in the trailer. Maybe this will give some perspective on his acting abilities on playing Conan and Captin America
