Jul 29 2008'W' Trailer Will Surely Lose Bush His 'Easily Swayed by Caricatures' Supporters
Well, the W trailer is out, and anyone who was worried Oliver Stone wouldn't present a fair representation can put their fears to bed. It totally seems like a fair fight when W is about to literally fist fight his president father.

Stone just couldn't wait to make this movie, could he? Anyone want to step up and make a Clinton movie yet, though his presidency is eight years past, providing the opportunity for some objective historical perspective?
But seriously, what are his sources? The biopics/any movie he's done before have not been known for their accuracy. JFK, Born on the Fourth of July, The Doors, Nixon, Alexander...all filled with more fantasy than fact. The man is desperate to make sure his version of everything becomes official.
That said, there are enough people suffering from complete hatred of this president that they'll coast through the movie saying, "I knew it!" I look forward to the idiots who think I am defending W by posting that.

This movie looked surprisingly watchable.
Worth a download for sure

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119942/
not blatantly named bill clinton but basically based on him
4. dan - July 29, 2008 3:24 PM
this movie has a great cast. it's going to be preposterous and completely one-sided, like a Michael Moore film, but it ought to be entertaining... like a Michael Moore film.

JWM - they did one about clinton (while he was still in office) - primary colours starring travolta - still want to whine about sources?
6. ThunderThighs - July 29, 2008 3:56 PM
I didn't know that this guy still had supporters. Bill Clinton sucked, sure, he bombed Iraq to cover up his BJ, he organized NATO bombings of Kosovo, etc. etc... however, no one, and I do really mean, no one, in the past 30 years has done more to fuck up America than this administration. No one.
7. Amen - July 29, 2008 4:21 PM
Amen, all you need is look at how this country has freefallen in the 8 years of 'W' rule. It's disgusting this fuck face even has a movie about his life coming out regardless of the slant.
The Bushes have destroyed this country and to alter a famous Bush era saying, "If you like Bush, you can get the hell out."
8. emily - July 29, 2008 4:36 PM
Don't confuse your hatred of Bush with support for this movie. We all hate Bush, but I rather watch a 24-hour loop of him saying "Now watch this drive!" rather than subject my soul to another ridiculous, self-satisfied Oliver Stone piece of shit.
9. wendy - July 29, 2008 4:50 PM
Ug I hate that wonderful world song. Think hollywood can learn to stop using it sometime soon, please?
10. Grover - July 29, 2008 5:05 PM
Dear emily.
You are my hero.

second that

I have a feeling that the unfortunate association between W and Josh "YummyBuns" Brolin is going to start causing me confusion in the pants area. The last thing I want to have during a poorly-rehearsed and well-stuttered State of the Union address is a clitoral hard-on. Am I right?
13. netstarman - July 29, 2008 6:22 PM
Good lord talk about boring isn't there enough bad talk and cartoons about the President, the liberals hate him so much they had to get Oliver( "I couldn't get it right the first time and never will !" ) Stone. I guess some people forgot Alexander movie ???
14. goddammit - July 29, 2008 7:02 PM
this looks so fucking retarded.
fucking oliver stone, self-righteous prick.
what a stupid movie about a stupid man made by another stupid man.
15. JWM - July 29, 2008 7:42 PM
@ menikmati:
1. I did forget about Primary Colors, so my bad. (that's for you, too, noob)
2. PC was based on Joe Klein's personal time spent with Clinton, as I recall. The book on which the movie was based was written anonymously, and only later was the source revealed. But at least there was some sort of extant accounting on the part of a journalist, not the knee-jerk fantasies of a mescaline junkie and avowed conspiracy theorist.
3. I wasn't whining, jackass. If you note, I was more or less taking pot-shots at Stone.
4. Seriously, go get some vicodin or pot or whatever will help you sleep.

Maybe he read Kitty Kelley's Bush Dynasty and became inspired. Compelling stuff even if most of the interviews and citation documents are questionable. I will rent this one.
17. The Observer - July 29, 2008 11:16 PM
Actually, Emily, we don't "all hate Bush". Some people are above the desperate and pathetic need for an enemy.
He's a shitty president for sure, but the whole blind and unreasonable hate deal got old about 7 years ago.
18. Dallas - July 29, 2008 11:53 PM
Firstly, I agree with The Observer in that the whole "Fuck Bush" mantra is old, petty, and childish to a degree that even the late Bill Buckley couldn't eruditely mock.
Second, W is my homeboy, I worked for him in 2004 in Ohio. While there are things with which I disagree with him, he's not the evil bastard liberals **cough** SOCIALISTS! **cough** make him out to be. Over the next 50 years, as the spread of democracy continues, history will judge W favorably. Don't forget that W has done more for AIDS in Africa than any other president.
That being said, this movie looks very entertaining and will definitely watch this movie

NICE! My friend recommended me a very interesting place ☆☆☆"NYwealthyMatch . c o m""""""""☆☆☆ If you’ve ever been there you will know what I mean….

It is funny how nobody ever says anything about the democratically controlled congress...
Denial: A lib saying bush has screwed up the US and not acknowledging that the congress has an even lower approval rating. Is anyone else watching the congress turn down every single bill that could help the nation? I am.
In my opinion, which is not so much opinion, is that it was not Bush that screwed up the state of the nation, it was not the congress, it was not 9-11, it was not the oil companies, we, the people are the only ones to blame. People will complain about the debt the country is in and say that it is all bushs fault when they themselves have 50 thousand dollars of debt because they had to have a new tv, new car, new everything when they can not afford it. So now the economy is dead. People spent more then they had, banks gave out more then they should have. The government cant control the stupidity and gluttony of this nation.
21. Jumpin_J - July 30, 2008 10:33 AM
Damn, did anyone catch how many executive producers are on this thing? Even Peter Graves! Damn, I wondered what happened to him.
22. ANGRY BROOMSTICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - July 30, 2008 11:04 AM
I thought that "W" was supposed to be a comedy parody?
23. Superevil - July 30, 2008 11:32 AM
Damn I was really hoping the eventual spam comment would be about hooking up with President Bush.
24. leujin - July 30, 2008 1:31 PM
Wow, the chick from Crash is a dead ringer for Condoleezza. Go figure.
Oliver Stone never ceases to baffle me with his... continued film-making career.
25. CJ - July 30, 2008 1:42 PM
I think when W is out of office he should write and direct a movie about Stone and how he sent Al Pacino's career down the shitter with that terrible ass movie "Any Given Sunday."
This movie looks like a piece of garbage like all of the rest of Oliver Stone'e self-serving pieces of crap. I'd rather go watch Batman again because at least I know there was some known written material that the story was based on and not pulled out of the director's ass like this shit-fest is going to be.
You may or may not be a fan of W as president but no one can deny that Oliver Stone is a worthless director. He had a few modest hits years ago and he has been riding their success ever since. He is what Quentin Tarantino is becoming and will be in about 10 more years.
26. Windier E. Megatons - July 30, 2008 3:14 PM
@Dallas: You're right, Bush has done wonders for AIDS in Africa. Maybe a future president can work on doing wonders for actually preventing it, say by not sinking the majority of aid money into abstinence programs that don't work.
27. Lindsay - July 31, 2008 5:04 PM
It's so hard to see actors playing real-life-always-in-the-news characters. It really doesn't sit well with me at all lol
28. Amphetadex - August 2, 2008 12:53 PM
I guess I'm the only one who likes Oliver Stone anymore. Oh well. I just don't have qualms with him being self-indulgent, I guess.
