Jul 9 2008'Quarantine' Trailer: It's Like That Blair Witch One, or That Clover One, but with Zombies
There's a new trailer for Quarantine, a shot-for-shot remake of [REC] and the latest entry in the insane-event-captured-on-handheld-video genre that introduces a zombie virus into the equation. Does it have fearful weeping delivered directly into the camera? Yes, it does. Seemingly scary things happening that the cameraman barely catches a glimpse of? Yes. Someone insisting the cameraman keeps taping? Yes again. The assurance that many will leave the theater complaining about feeling motion sick? Yes! All those clichés and more!
Spoiler! I hear [REC] was good, but seriously, the "zombie virus" thing ends up being bite-transmitted demon possession? That seems incredibly stupid.

It's got Dexter's sexy ass sister in it..might actually see this piece of shit.
Also the look of the film looks nothing like The Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield...it's much more clear.

I think you REALLY should see the original because it is incredibly great and one of the scariest films I've seen in years (and I watch tons of horror movies every now and then) and because I don't think you or the person who told you about it got it.
*SPOILER*
What they thought was a demonic possession was really a zombie - not both. It makes sense that this movie comes from Spain, an extremely catholic country. Remaking in America doesn't even make sense. Also, I don't think it is shot-by-shot because there was no dog in the first one and nobody could watch the television because they all just stopped working.
Just one more thing, these Quarantine trailers suck big time. Not only they reveal all the scary moments which you're not supposed to know till you really watch it, they also put the last scene on it - yes, they just told you how it actually ends.
A remarkable example of how a trailer should be is this one for [Rec]:

The UK trailers for this showed the ending as well, but we'd seen it as an imported DVd before we saw the trailer - I thought it was an excellent cheape film, the end in the attic made the missus jump and had a bit of a twist. You are right about the catholic thing, basicaly the girls pitched as having demonic possesion but she's just ill with the sickness...

ok ladysnow, sorry for being a bit harsh on my response, don't know what went through my mind, there's no need to offend.
I just wanted to inform you that spain was an extremely catholic country a looong time ago, now it's like any other european country, sure there are lots of catholic spaniards as there are chatolic italians or germans.
I know it's not a big deal but I thought they wouldn't like to be generalized like that, and also I felt bad for my troll response.

iugokl, it's fine. But I think you just didn't quite understand me. When I say that "Spanish is an extremely catholic country" I do not actually think that every spanish people is catholic. That's why generalizations exist, so you don't have to say "well, some spanish are atheists, some are budhists, some are jews, some are wican, some are protestants, etc, etc... but a lot of it are catholic". Also I don't think it has anything to do with government. I'm from Brazil, a government non-religious, but I know for fact this is an extremely catholic country - even though I know some atheists, budhists, jews, etc, etc...

I'm sure glad I've already seen [REC] before reading this and seeing the Quarantined trailer... half the fun of being scared by the original was not knowing what the f*ck was happening until the final reel.

[REC] was awesome. I was so bummed out when I found out an Hollywood remake was on the way, especially because after seeing the trailer, I just thought it was extremely bad - it reveals the ending! That's ass.
Also, I see people in earlier comments already enlightened the whole bite situation, the girl was actually sick with the virus but the priests took it for demonic possession.

Why do a remake of a movie 1 year later. WTF.
USA needs to be less idiot and begins to give a shit to foreign movies like [REC].
Not do I fucking remake.
Dispite all that... Jennifer Carpenter is a fucking nice piece of ass. (L).
