Jul 23 2008'Pineapple Express' Still Looks Good (with Clips as Proof)
IESB has posted six (6!) new clips from Pineapple Express that have assured me more than ever that this movie will be really good, and that I won't have built it up to myself and everyone else only to be horribly disappointed. Right? Watch them and tell me I'm right.

I saw this tonight at a special sneek preview. it was crazy they would'nt let anyone with a cell phone into the movie.. I had to take them to the car or get a ticket from some old lady and pick it up after the movie. Also they had guys with night vision looking for people trying to record the movie lol...
With all that said the movie was fucking great, very funny and the action wasnt to bad either if you guys like to laugh go see it.

@5
Dude I thought it was funny as hell if you havent seen it then dont comment if its terrible or not. Everyone has there own opinion about films but someone who says its terrible before they see it is just dumb. Its just like looking at the cover of a book and saying it was a terrible book.

freedom of speech is a bitch right?
8. Genocide - July 24, 2008 8:37 AM
Im all for freedom of speech... You can say a movie or book sucks but if you havent seen it or read it your comment of said book / movie is flawed.

Awesome thanks for the link
10. Rogan - July 24, 2008 9:24 AM
Seth Rogan is quickly becoming the next Will Ferrell, and that isnt a good thing....

LMAO. The last two clips were freakin' hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing on how Seth was crying like crazy. And the part when he was like, "Uhh ohhh I made a mistake. I've...I'm just processing that last bit." And now he is dry from tears and is like, "I don't know...I...I...I realize now that if you take me back you are very naive and immature."
Gosh! That is freakin' funny. That's one way to get out of a jam. Blame them. lol And then he sighs at the end and is like that was close. That tickles me.

I'm confused how does genocide know if people have watched the clips or not?
13. joss - July 24, 2008 12:05 PM
still looks funny, but that might be because the clips are just slightly expanded bits from the preview.
14. Genocide - July 24, 2008 12:41 PM
@12
I wasnt talking about the clips if you read my first post you would see that ive seen the ENTIRE MOVIE and that the other gentlemans comment was based on the trailers. I simply pointed out he shouldnt judge a book by its cover or in this case a movie by its trailers....

This looks weak.
/I'll wait for DVD

I also saw it at a preview last night as well and "Pineapple Express" is bad. Jaw-droppingly bad. It doesn't have any feel of a "stoner" movie. I don't even like stoner movies but I'll admit "Half Baked" was great. Funny. Clever. Well written. Honest. Great performances. "Pineapple Express" is the exact opposite of "Half Baked." It's just Seth Rogan and James Franco smoking pot, running around, screaming and acting frantic. That's it. That's the ENTIRE movie crossed with a "Miami Vice" episode. It's a real torturous movie to sit through. I mean it just has no wit, structure, anything. The script had to have been written on an index card. Glen Mac is a very smart young man. He can tell just by the previews how bad it's going to be. Literally, I saw about three DOZEN people walk out before it's over. Hey, if you think people getting shot or beat up for 100 minutes and then saying "DUDE! You shot me/punched me/kicked me!" in a high pitched voice is the most hilarious thing ever then this is YOUR CITIZEN KANE!
But just like "Step Brothers" (which I saw last week) and most of the shit Apatow produces, it's SLOPPY. Nothing is well written. It's bad Tarantino dialogue, mega-meta-pop culture, etc. Bad editing. Lines, scenes just thrown up there. There's a real art to building a funny movie. Judd Apatow never learned this. His movies are just stupid, sophomoric crap that thinks it's a lot funnier than it actually is. I'm not trying to be cute or sarcastic here but I'm completely honest when I say that compared to "Pineapple Express", "The Love Guru" is a much better, well made, funnier film.

thug life!

Thank you Brian Wallace for making me believe I will love this movie. If long-winded assholes like you hate it, then it's sure to be a favorite of mine

I haven't seen it, so this is all speculation, but I imagine this movie as being purely below average but completely benign and harmless. It'll make bank and probably have like a 35-45 on Metacritic.
