Jul 8 2008Guess That Image! (Though You'll Wish You Hadn't)

fly-me-to-moon-pic-1.jpg

Quiz Time! What is the above image from?

A. NASA's first-ever CGI simulation of the moon landing.

B. A cut-scene from the 1997 PC game Moon Salute.

C. A pop-up ad for a "Great American Famous Walks on Things" screen saver.

D. A still from an actual movie coming out in 2008 based on factual events of the moon landing but with humorless cartoon flies inexplicably added and a horrible pun for a title. Also, I've become obsessed with the awful trailer.

Answer and more stills below the cut.

Answer: D! But every other answer actually makes more sense. And if you haven't yet heard of this Fly Me to the Moon business, you should definitely watch the enraging trailer.

Here are more promising shot:

Oh good, this character on the left has sort of a skeletal head. Not at all creepy.

I bet that hip character to the left will be a riot. Or just awkwardly present, like every other character in the preview.

Not at all creepy.

Is it meant to look like he's hanging himself or am I willing that?

Oh, I didn't realize the front of their helmets were always open, or that this could make any less sense.

Flies are disgusting little monsters. No amount of CGI wizardry could ever make them cute. I hereby lay a thousand curses upon the wombs of the daughters of the fucking idiot who thought this was a good idea.

This movie's existence is a slap in the face to all the hard working men and women who helped stage the moon landing.

@2 Ha! Especially Neil Armstrong. What a prick that guy is.

This movie's existence is a slap in the face to all the hard working men and women who like watching good movies.

This movie's existence is a slap in the face to all the hard working men and women who try for years to sell a movie script, only to see inanity like this thrown up onscreen, mocking them, their hopes and their dreams.

I just shit myself because these images are so fucking awesome!!! LOL LOL! OMG!

My God!
When I saw this trailer, I said "This better not be called Fly Boys", though Fly Me To the Moon, MIGHT be worse! It's REALLY hard to tell.
Why are their face-plate open? Why not just not wear them at all. Are they insinuating that flies don't breathe air? If that's the idea, why not just make them wear no helmets? Oh...I get it! It's cute!!!! (by cute, I mean RE-FUCKING TARDED!)
This is bad...so, so bad...

We really DID land on the moon apparently.

Not.

Ppl really believe we didn't land on the moon?

I love the internet some crack pot can make a claim with no evidence and pseudo-science and have millions fall for it.....Good times

Maggots being cute?

You want hard evidence? God told me we didn't land on the moon.

what are they using to make this "film"? MS paint?

Maybe the skeletal head one is voiced by Willem Dafoe.
P.S. For the sweet love of holy Christmas, stop covering this movie. It makes me want to die inside.

That third still looks like Flyback Mountain.

My 5 year old said he saw this at NASA space camp 2 weeks ago. He seemed to like it. The flies hitched a ride on the first space mission or something. Can't watch the trailer at work but I will check it out later.

great - the first animated movie to have been made completely by blind 3 year olds.

I feel like this is a plant just to make everyone realize how totally awesome WALL-E was in comparison to this travesty.

NAT'S GOING TO THE MOON!?!?!

I defy you to find a 3-5 year-old who won't scream and run at the sight of maggots pouring out of a dead, rotting carcas (ones that won't grow up to be psychopaths, anyway). Why, oh why would they ever try to make them cute for kids? Anyone volunteer to go back in time and kneecap the guy who came up with this idea at the moment of its inception?

that's right #3! He lives really close to me but nobody ever sees or talks to him! He won't talk to anyone! Maybe he DIDN'T land on the moon =P

The movie "fly me to the moon" is playing at 6 flags over Texas. This abortion is a 3-d movie that is crap-i-fying the DFW metro.

Two words.....VERY GAY.

20. Eric -
You just ruined my day. I was unaware of this thing existing in my state. Time to burn down six flags (not until after I grab a funnel cake though)

Alvin. Simon. Theodore. As flies. And they go to the moon. Box office gold.

i would like to watch this move
