To further address false rumors that Gort would not appear in the upcoming remake The Day the Earth Stood Still, or that if he did it would be in a radically updated form, Fox has released another poster for the film that prominently features the famous robot. Now what are they going to do about all the rumors I'm starting that Gort is a mist-enshrouded Scooby Doo villain who will eventually be revealed to be an old man in a rubber mask?

this remake is gonna suck so f--king bad.

I am SO SICK of remakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12-12-08 is the day that Hollywood again tries to destroy our memories of a classic film. They will not succeed. Gort will get them. Klaatu Barada Nikto!

Here we go again...

I'm STILL not seeing it... in fact I'm at Comic Con right now and will probably go throw mushy tomatoes at Keanu and Co. for this abomination.

have some faith people they may make this work , for what I've seen it looks great, and has anyone seen the original movie in the last two years , it's very weak even for a classic sci-fi flick . I think as long as Keano doesn't go "Whoo" we may have a winner.

I am not really a fan of War of the World-Close Encounters-The Day the Earth Stood Still kinda of girl but I have watched the orginal...granted I was drunk but i still watched and maybe I will watch this. Maybe I will have drinks before too.

This was apparently made by the same person that did the Max Payne poster posted earlier.

Yes, I've seen the original within the last two years. I just bought a copy . It is a classic film. It has something to say. It has withstood the test of time. We who remember seeing the original as kids, remember Gort. We remember the famous line from the movie.Who's going to remember Keanu Reeves or this "remake" in 50 years???

why is the world ending on my birthday. WHY GORT WHY.
