Angelina Jolie is reportedly looking to somehow replace Halle Berry's indelible depiction of Catwoman, and has made calls to film executives about playing the Batman villain. A respectable periodical like the Telegraph wouldn't run a sensational story like this without checking some facts, so they went straight the source to clear things up. No, not Angelina Jolie or Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan. Julie Newmar--one of three women who played Catwoman in the '60s:
Ms Newmar, 74, said: "Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me she has already made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman's one true love."She added: "She's tremendously popular with women because she's both a heroine and a villainess."
So there you have it. Angelina Jolie will be playing Catwoman, who is popular with women for two reasons.

sweet. I love her as Lara Croft, Kate Libby, Fox, Mrs. Smith, and Sway, in almost every action movie she has done.
She's the only female action movie star who CAN hold an action movie on her own.

I can't really see her staring in the same movie as Christian Bale, for some reason I think Chirstian Bale is to good of an actor to be in a movie with her. That and I just can't see it.
Plus, Chistopher Nolan has already stated that the next movie would not include Catwoman or the Penguin, that they wanted to explore other villians who had not yet been dipicted on the big screen.
And lastly Julie Newmar should just shut up, no one cares what she says.

After Keath Ledger, Nolan is going to have a hard time casting villians against Bale's brooding, dark Batman. AJ would be perfect as Catwoman. Who else is out there who could play the range with the before and after looks? It would be quite the challenge.

I def wouldn't want Jolie as Catwoman. I would want a good actress not an overacting, big breasted set of lips. In any case I dont think I would want Catwoman in the Nolan version of Batman. Shes too flat as a character. I would want The Toy man, the ventriloquist or the penguin so that the creepiness and tragedy of the movie can continue on. it would be hard to top the penguin from Batman Returns though.

Catwoman should have been a supporting character all along, I think not including her in begins was kind of a shame, but she is just a burglar. No where near high stakes enough for Batman to spend too much time on and definitely not enough to carry a film after the last two centered on pretty large scale terrorists. Plus, and this is probably just nit picking on my part, Angelina Jolie's boobs are way to big for me to buy her as a cat burglar slipping into tiny spaces. I've always thought Catwoman should be pretty tiny.

If Angelina were cast as Catwoman, it would be the second Catwoman movie that I would intentionally go out my way TO NOT SEE.
Angelina Jolie's movies are a waste of time and money. She's a terrible actress - it's not really acting if you're playing the same character EVERY time. And frankly, she's not even that good looking. There are so many more deserving and WAY more talented actresses that would be better selections for Catwoman.

If Angeline Jolie somehow conned her way into a Batman film, I would personally hunt her down and burn her alive. There is not way she has enough talent to pull off a legitimate acting role; all she is capable of is portraying a hooker with a gun. Coming from a true Batman fan, and a female, Angelina would just absolutely ruin any sort of Batman movie for me. Hopefully Christopher Nolan has enough sense to see that her Catwoman would just be a slutty thief, as opposed to the intelligent Selina Kyle that captivates Batman's heart and mind. No woman in their right mind would ever look to Angelina Jolie as a role model, and if someone was clueless enough to believe she has acting talent, they should be taken behind Wayne Manor and shot.

once again, looks come into this factor. Why the fuck does it matter what Angelina's face and body look? What the fuck does Catwoman have to do with how a woman looks?
If people want to bash her based on her ACTING skills, fine, go ahead. But many of you need to quit bashing her face and body, because I dont see how looks are connected to acting abilities.

Bringing back Robin - having an affair with Nightwing, would be so much better than Jolie as Catwoman. Although that would be totally gay and certainly I wouldn't watch it; but for the sake of humanity, please hold her back from playing the role. She better-off staying at home and breast feed Zatora and Madox.

I've always liked Catwoman, but I'm not sure if I trust Jolie with the role.
What about Harley Quinn? She's one of the more feasible Batman villains, though she wasn't originally in the comics. Joker is my favorite, but no one within their right mind would try to tackle that role. Clayface is my second favorite, but he doesn't really fit into the ultra-seriousness of Nolan's Gotham, since his skin morphing requires a lot of suspension of disbelief. Mad Hatter isn't that interesting, Poison Ivy is kind of a toss-up, and the Riddler is just lame. Ventriloquist/Scarface could really work though, he was always cool.
As long as they don't bring Robin into the next movie, I'll just shut up and take whatever they give me, and so will the rest of you, and you know it.

If they want Catwoman in the next one, I think they would have to concentrate on her relationship with the Falcone's and Italy, keep it realistic and not fantastic. But... well, with the path they've taken in the movies concerning the Falcone's/Maroni's, they really can't do that, now, can they? Plus, the writers have said Catwoman's not in it.
I would prefer to see Talia anyway. There's your love interest/villian all rolled up into one.

First off, as must as I love Harley Quinn - my favorite cartoon character of all time - you can NOT conceivably have her without the Joker... and as we know, that's not possible... and if they try to replace Heath Ledger's Joker with another actor... I will have lost all faith in cinema and pull myself out.
I had a brief discussion with a few people on the idea of Catwoman in the next Batman flick, which was hinted....in the Dark Knight, and I can't think of anyone I'd like to see in the role other than Angelina Jolie. As much as people on here keep complaining on the idea, no one came up with a suitable "NEXT CHOICE."
I WIN!
...except Megan Fox, and I'd prefer it if she didn't act in movies... I'd prefer it if she didn't exist, something about that chick rubs me the wrong way - she's what's wrong with hollywood. Not that she's not gorgeous, but damn - stick to LOOKIE no TALKIE.
So, unless anyone can convince me of another actress suitable for the role, suck on sphincter.
As for the comment on Julie Newmar... keeping her mouth shut or what have you....

I'm thinking somewhere along the lines Ras is coming back. Depends on how well they can blend the mysticism and slight cheese flavor of the Lazarus Pits with the realistically-stylized movies.
The reason why I say Ras is because of the look on his face at the end of the first movie. Yes, he could've been praying\preparing, but I think there was something else happening...
