Jun 25 2008'Watchmen' Veidt Commercial Contest Winners

watchmen-veidt-commercial.jpg

Back in April, director Zack Snyder opened a contest/marketing ploy in which fans were asked to make an '80s-style commercial for Veidt Products. The winning commercials would have the chance to be shown in the background of a scene in Watchmen, forever making the winners really annoying to watch Watchmen with as they continually point out that their commercial is coming up.

Well, the winners have been picked, and you can now see them all here. Below the cut, I've included a couple of the better entries that will have you remembering, "Oh yeah, I guess the '80s did have some stupid commercials."

Death by Kool-Aid!

Whoa, I thought I was going to get Rick Rolled at 0:16 of the first video.

The action figure one was the dog's bollocks.

I like this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hair spray and action figure ones are pretty dead on. At the end of the action figures one, I was hoping for the kid to go "Kenner's for pussies."

The action figure one was the dog's bollocks.

Is that a compliment or a criticism? I honestly don't know.

woooooah maaaan.... It's the Attack of the 80s!

@ 7: It's a compliment, guv'nor.

i.e. 'the cat's pyjamas', 'the bee's knees' etc.
