May 1 2008'Monster Camp' Poster, Appropriately in the Style of Poor Fantasy Art
Is there seriously a documentary about live-action role playing people? That's amazing. How has this not done before? Someone documents the strangeness of spelling bee kids but somehow no one has looked at the far more patent oddballs running around the woods with medieval weaponry. If Monster Camp captures any of the magic at all of this clip, I can already tell you it's a success.
Also, is the guy on the left holding a doll or his submissive catgirl girlfriend? Either works; I'm just curious.

Monster Camp is lighthearted and comedic and is about the people themselves and why they play the game, and the politics of it all. See for yourself why Hollywood Variety said "As endearing as it is amusing."
We've got some festival screenings coming up in Toronto and beyond (30 festivals to date, and 3 best documentary awards) and there are regular theatrical runs 5/9 in Chicago, then 5/16 in Winnipeg, then 5/30 in Vegas with more to come.
Netflix subscribers can already add Monster Camp to their cue. How cool is that?
The DVD release is later this year.

Damn, I had a fiver on the big guy - he was NOT going down but those Lightning Bolts did seem to have splash damage after all. Kinda like snarks in Half Life I - Eeek, got my geeks confused - much apologies!
