May 5 2008Marvel Studios Announces Schedule up to Age of Flying Cars

Riding high on the overwhelming success of Iron Man this weekend, Marvel has decided to reveal its feature film slate for the next three years. This way, we'll say, "Ooh, goody, Thor will totally be the next Iron Man!" instead of, "A Thor movie? Are you fucking kidding me?" Which will probably be the more likely sentiment after The Incredible Hulk. Here's the tentative schedule:

The Incredible Hulk - June 13, 2008
Iron Man 2 - April 30, 2010
Thor - June 4, 2010
The First Avenger: Captain America - May 6, 2011
The Avengers - July 2011
Ant-Man - Writer/director engaged

Here is additional schedule I've made up, but suspect may come true:

Another Stab at The Hulk - May 2012
Iron Man Ruts Against Thor (see exclusive first shot above) - June 2013
The Avengers IV - August 2013
Darkhawk: Why Not? - July 2015
Hulk: No, This Time We Got It - May 2020
Hulk 5 - June 2020
Whoever's Left - 2020-?

What about Xmen Origins: Wolverine, Weapon X, or whatever their calling it.? Oh and isnt Iron Fist also coming out? Seriously, Iron fist was a bad ass martial arts comic. HOwever, they cant make all the Marvel universe into flms. Some characters should never even be considered, like Ant MAn...wtf? Next thing you know they will make a Dr. Strange movie. It wont translate well in the superhero market and cold possible kill the comic franchise as a genre.

Screw that, BRING ON DR. STRANGE! If X3 couldn't kill the franchise genre, then I doubt Dr. Strange can. I've got a few ideas to update him: Give him a teenage daughter who's a goth, have him try and balance his professional life with being a single father and maybe have him take up residence with her in Tony Stark's guest house or something... hold on, these are great, let me write them down...

Also - where IS that BOOSTER GOLD/BLUE BEETLE crossover movie?

Yeah, I was wondering about the Wolverine movie(s) as well. Guess it's more of an announcement of new movies, although The Incredible Hulk is listed. Weird.

#2 - I see what you did there.

I was thinking "Ant Man... wtf?" as well, #1. What's the tagline for the movie going to be? Ant Man - You haven't seen this much spousal abuse since 'The Shining.'

How about a Lifetime Original about spousal abuse, starring the Pyms... Marvel, call me.

'Wolverine' and 'Punisher: War Zone' are being handled by Fox and Lionsgate, respectively, so they were later in the schedule. They're still planned for May 1, 2009 and December 5, 2008.

Booster Gold + Blue Beetle = GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew to his the big screen.

I think the new Hulk looks good. I mean... it does have Norton in it, and he can make bad movies good.

Oh Shi-

Avengers movie. Awesome.

Hulk: No, This Time We Got It - May 2020

Okay, that made me fucking lol.

A freaking DarkHawk name drop. Impressive. I think SleepWalker might make a cool movie. Really.

Can't wait for: Whoever's Left - 2020. XD

If Darkhawk and Sleepwalker can make a comeback so can Thunderstrike!
