Apr 16 2008'X-Files 2' Movie Title Announced, Not as Stupid as 'Fast and Furious'
Outside of "the truth is out there" and "hey, nerd!", few words are as ingrained in the minds of X-Files superfans as "I want to believe." The saying was clearly written on a poster in Mulder's office, and the sentiment was a running theme throughout the series. So I guess it only makes sense that creator Chris Carter has chosen X-Files: I Want to Believe as the full, lengthy title of his new movie. As he explained:
It's a natural title. It's a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. 'I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith.
At first I wasn't that keen to it, but I found that it if you forcibly hold someone's hand and keep saying it to them, slowly and sincerely, never breaking eye contact, you'll start to warm up to it.
Thanks to Adam and "Doogs" for the news.

Ugh, that's a horrible title.
Imagine asking your friends
"Hey guys, do you wanna see X-Files: I want to believe?"
"What? You believe what?"
"No no, it's the movie title."

The creators must have been touched by His Noodly Appendage:

I admit it I was a really big fan of this show. I still have the books, movie, and most of the episodes on tape. I used to be the biggest fan/geek of this show I knew, heck back in the day I used to have my room done up in the X-Files theme.
But as the main characters started to step aside and Chris Carter replaced them with the new team (If anyone remembers this near the end of the tv series), I began to loose interest and was kinda angry because of it. IMO you just can't replace Mulder and Scully it ruins the whole show. I'm now however not so much a big a fan as I used to be (because of the above), but I still can't wait for this movie to come out. Hopefully, it will be Mulder and Scully as main characters throughout the movie.
