Apr 7 2008Uwe Boll Claims He'll Quit Movie-Making After 1 Million Complaints
Responsible for such unwanted video game-to-terrible film adaptations as Alone in the Dark, Dungeon Seige, and the BloodRayne ones, Uwe Boll may be one of the worst (probably the worst) big-name directors working today. But that doesn't mean he's not a man of the people--provided those people come in groups of one million or larger. Speaking to FEARnet, the German director/pugilist responded to the ongoing petition to get him to stop making films:
FEARnet: Are you aware that there is a petition online, signed by 18,000 people, requesting that you stop making movies?Uwe: Yeah, I know that. 18,000 is not enough to convince me.
FEARnet: How many would it take?
Uwe: One million. Now we have a new goal.
Since this announcement, the petition has reached nearly 50,000 signatures, still 950,000 short of his challenge. So if you care--and actually believe he'll respond to an internet-based petition--virtually sign it here. The fate of Crystal Castles: The Movie may be in your hands.

Why isn't there a petition like this for Michael Bay?
2. Interslicery - April 7, 2008 12:20 PM
He wont pay any attention to it, but meh, I support it. he's a plague on video game movies.
I wouldnt give a shit if he didnt steal games from people who might actually do it well

I just did my part. He must be stopped!

"Why isn't there a petition like this for Michael Bay?"
I was going to say the same thing!!!

At the rate people are signing, the one millionth signature should happen in 15 days. It'll be interesting to hear Uwe's reaction. It'll turn out that the website is his and he'll change the petition title last minute to "Should Uwe Boll Direct The Legend of Zelda?"

My signature made the total 52,706.
Here's the one for Michael Bay: http://www.petitiononline.com/OPFlame/
Its called "Keep Your Flames Away From My Optimus Prime". Reading their plea kind of reminds me of the nerdy Jesus-freak kid in Clerks II.

He can't box us all...unless he's some kind of uberman... fucking Germans.

He won't keep his word, he'll just say one million is not enough to convince me. We need Michael Bay for the times we want to watch a silly explosion movie, without him there's be a gap in the market and his films are usually just watchable. There's no comparing Boll to any other director, he IS the worst.

This can/will only end in the same fashion as the Kanye West vs. 50 Cent challenge. Conclusion, Uwe Boll is similar to... 50 Cent?
10. Phil - April 7, 2008 3:15 PM
Who cares? If you don't like his movies, don't see them.
The idea of a petition to have him stop making movies is laughable...why so some vanguards of "taste" get to decide what gets made?
Are you going to "protest" Troma Films also?
*If you don't like his movies, don't see them.*
The man is a financial success, and he has a right to film whatever he wants, no matter how many people dislike his work.

woah woah woah, don't bludgeon Troma with horribility by comparing them to the likes of Uwe Boll. Troma films at least acknowledge how bad they are and make them campy film, Uwe Boll makes cinematic cancer.

You couldn't even spell "Dungeon Siege" right. Phuck You.
I love Uwe Boll.

What offends me about Uwe Boll is that he's using (1) money that could be put to better use, and (2) IDEAS that could be put to better use.

This Petition is stupid. Way to much pseudonyms signed in.
The only Boll Movie I watched was Postal and it was a really funny movie.
... not sure about the others, but it seems that enough masochistic people like to watch and rant about them in blogs.

I've been tracking the petition since I heard of this. While I don't believe it will really work, it is funny to see how the internet is dealing with it. You can see a graph of it here, if you want: http://www.toxicdump.org/uwe_boll.html

I don't believe that any person should be kept from creating, even if the audience disagrees with what they make. I think everyone can suck it up and deal some how. There are much bigger things going on; things that actually involve people getting hurt; and there are petitions for those things, too.

Actually, on second thought, I'm a gigantic douche and retract my last statement.

seriously, we can't really do anything but complain can we? THEY have money, we don't. so, what can we do but just watch? i don't care but let's just say i like the transformers movie only
