What is this distinctive red slash across a dark sea of black, proclaiming the wails of a personified metropolis? Why, it's part one of a new, three-part outdoor ad campaign for Frank Miller's take on Will Eisner's The Spirit, and a definitive answer to questions like "Is the (screaming) city your lover, Spirit?", "Are you, in turn, her spirit, Spirit?" and "Spirit, do you wear a big, bright, red tie?" We'll have to wait until the NY Comic-Con--the site of the trailer debut--to get to the more pressing questions like, "Is this going to look just like Sin City?" and "Is that necessarily a bad thing?"

Sweet posters

So far Frank Millers 1-1 so I'm game for this when it comes out!

Loved "Sin City," liked "300" (but "Robocop II," not so much) This'll probably be in "must see" territory. Certainly the combo of two of my favorite comic book creators shall bring goodness. (and no, I won't call them "graphic novels," even if Eisner did coin the term!)

I like the spirit a lot, as well as miller. But the only negative that this Poster(I say that because the poster may be the only thing that is done in "sin city" style) could do is take away from the Sin City films coming up. Sin city was really unique when it was done, but I fear that after a few other movies and music videos (Timberland and the hives) and whatever else does it will it really be that cool. It sorta could be another matrix type thing. By the time the other matrix movies came out "Bullet time" was played out. Which is another reason the Matrix sequils sucked for the most part. I love the sin city stories and I know they are on hold kind of right now with miller doing the spirit and rodriguez doing Barbarella, but people don't need to play it out before the thing that originated it has the time to finish. ESPECIALLY if the people playing the style out are the very people that originated it. Movies are not art work in the sense people expect you to stay with a certin style. You can, but people dont really take offense if you mix it up like they can sometimes in the art world. I just think that after this film they either need to chill with it or do the damn second and third sin city films before people kinda become not as into it(atleast visual wise) the stories would be safe but you don't want people saying, the style of this movie WAS so original. You want them to say this one is still original.

I quite like the look of these...

Not counting Robocop's 2 and 3...

But I'll give him credit for 300 even though he was not connected to the film...

Im cool with the film coming out. Like i said I love sin city frank and the spirit. I hope that it doesnt hurt them in the end for using it so often with everyone else who isnt really a comic fan or anything people that only know the films. They can somtimes get bored quickly. But im excited about all the stuff franks doing right now.
