Apr 18 2008Remaining 'G.I. Joe' Character Shots Revealed
IMAGE REMOVED AT REQUEST OF Paramount Picture Corporation Properties
In a flood of black spandex and patent leather, the remaining character shots from G.I. Joe have arrived at WWTD. The series of awkwardly-posed shots give us a first look at the costumes for Duke (spandex with some panels strapped to it, faint goatee), Roadblock (same), Cover Girl (Halloween USA's Sexy Militant costume), Storm Shadow (an '80s coke dealer's couch as a biker jacket), Baroness (a formfitting tacky purse), and Hawk (leather jacket drenched in self-loathing). Looking at them did nothing to inject any confidence in the project, but it was pretty worthwhile to see supermodel Karolina Korkova and Dennis Quaid compete for Best Come-Hither Over-the-Shoulder glance.

See, although the snake eyes is awesome and the scarlett costume is hott, I'm still a little concerned. Lets face it, for many people GI JOE was the cornerstone of our youth so its a touchy subject. I'll probably still see it though.
Can't go wrong with a woman in leather though.

I go back and forth on this every time they release new pics or news. Currently, due to the all black, x-men route costumes, I think they can fuck off. Sure, Wolverine's costume would look ridiculous in real life (as it does in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade every year), but what was wrong with Duke's military style uniform? Also, why is Hawk dressed like Flynt? God I hate myself right now.

It is so upsetting to see Lee Byung Hun (Storm Shadow), who is such an excellent actor in korea, take such a crappy role...what a waste of talent *sigh*

Actually, everything I've seen so far looks pretty cool. I don't know the first thing about the original G.I.Joe material, but I might give the movie a shot.

Some of you haven't kept up with the comics the past few years. There was a reimagining of G.I. Joe called Reloaded, and the version of Storm Shadow in that book actually looked like his movie counterpart. So before you crucify this movie like everyone did Transformers before it was released, give it a chance.
