Apr 11 2008Read Michael Chabon's 'The Amazing Adventures of Peter Parker'

In a divergence from their more-standard "If _____ wrote _____" pieces examining the wackiness of if someone wrote something they didn't, McSweeney's has posted "If Michael Chabon wrote the Spider-Man 2 Script", which is a divergence because he actually did write a complete draft (and received a shared story credit). So download the screenplay, and decide for yourself whether it was a good idea to pass on the majority of a Pulitzer Prize-winner's draft in favor of a 73-year-old guy's revision. Seems like a sound idea, but perhaps not?

If is this was the embarrassing third entry I'd share your concern, but second was pretty solid even moreso than the moderately enjoyable first.

@1: Agreed.

Agreed with the first 2/ Quite good, but the second wasn't too bad in itself.....Doc Oc was a solid villain etc...now the third....where we had to endure Peter Parker turning into a poorly-dancing manwhore set to music----I mean...turn...evil...that's another story.

After reading the PDF on the site, I would say that although there was some better stuff, overall the actual movie script made for a more enjoyable film.

That "73-year-old guy" you make mention of has also won 2 Oscars for screenwriting.

So it's not the Pulitzer, but, I'd say that's still worth something, yes?

If only they'd have gotten EITHER OF THEM for the 3rd movie. Or, for that matter, the 1st movie.

Wait, so you guys really think the second movie was better than the first one? Personally the first one was the only one I enjoyed in the slightest. The second was retarded, and the third made me want to die.
