Apr 2 2008Lynch's 'Surveillance' Trailer! Oh, Jennifer Lynch...
Though it's easy to forget--or, more likely, to ask how--oddball-genius director David Lynch has a daughter. And as is the tendency of director offspring, she too fancies herself a filmmaker. Now, after a long absence since her 1993 sadistic-amputation-but-it's-all-a-dream! story, Boxing Helena (and its associated lawsuit against Kim Basinger), Jennifer Lynch has returned to the director's chair with Surveillance. As you'd expect from a Lynch spawn, the trailer is disturbing and intentionally strange, made all the more jarring by the squinty presence of a goateed French Stewart. Take a look, under the cut.

"she too fancies herself a filmmaker"
That's becuase being a filmmaker is easy, you just need someone to open the door for you. *sends screenplay*

Too artsy-fartsy for me. Just kind of seemed.... uh... dumb. And German.

I wish my daddy was a producer so that I could get a second chance, after making a flaming piece of crap like Boxing Helena.

I realize that the trailer was supposed to confuse me a little and intrigue me a lot, but it just seemed to be trying way too hard to do both and ended up accomplishing very little, in my eyes.
