Apr 3 2008'Hellboy II' Trailer: Like Biting Into a Filet-o-Freak
I don't know how much I've mentioned it here, but like Karl Pilkington and Larry David, I'm an unabashed lover of freaks. Horrible deformities, disgusting aliens, general mutations, whatever--so long as it's non-normal to the degree of slight repulsion, I want to see it. But, man, this new Hellboy II trailer...
See this awful gentleman above with a building for a head? He's like the median freak, and he already has no business existing. Wait until you see these terrible things. It's like Guillermo del Toro does the Star Wars cantina.
Fellow Freak Fans, you really need to watch this. Non-Freak Fans, there also seemed to be a story going on as a background to the mutant menagerie, so maybe you'll find some meager joy in that. Thanks for the tip, Joe.

Pure coolness. I fear they've shown too much, but I hope I'm wrong.

I know that they said that Doug Jones sounds alot like David Hyde Pierce, and that was why they were going to let him use his own voice in this... but you can tell the difference. I'm kinda bummed about that.
That being a minor thing (I guess), this film does look pretty fakkin' awesome.

That trailer was really cool to watch! Now all we have to do is hope that they didn't just use all the best parts of the movie for it...

Wow. Looks awful. Wraith/Dark elves, ropey CGi, the new industry standard. The monsters look crap in a cartooney (but not good comicky) way. I bemoan the loss of modelling skills and good matte art that made that made 2001 or the opening scene of ST A New Hope so impressive. Will I watch it? Sure. Will I look forward to it? Not after this. Looks like Narnia/LOTR/Golden Compass/Stardust etc school of effects.

Alright, the eyes-where-they're-not-supposed-to-be thing is getting tired.
Damn, Selma Blair is sexy.
It seems far less occult-ish than the first one - more like a goofy parade of freaks akin to Labyrinth or Little Monsters.
I suppose I'll pay for it, though, seeing as how I've got nothing else to do.

#6 -> I totally agree that you can tell the difference, but personally, I like it. As an avid fan of the comics, I always thought DHP made Abe sound way too wussy/effeminate. Doug Jones appears to correct that a bit in his performance... (judging by like what, one line).
Agreed, trailer looks pretty decent, just hope the HB/Liz romance is toned down a lot more. And that the opening scene is the previous movie's FBI agent's funeral.

Ima be all over this. I loved the first one [except for the director's cut], so I'm there on opening day!

Dude this looks awesome, I can't to see this.

This does actually look like it'll be pretty good. And I LOVED all the freaks. Nothing like the "vagina-mouth" thing to make one go wtf, but in a good way. And eyes anywhere but on the face is creepy, I don't care who you are.

the fire was moving backwards in the front of the building.

Didn't watch it, but that picture reminds of Chairface Chippendale:

Donal- first off really now? You're SO wrong, this movie is going to ROCK. The character designs look wicked, and the colors really pop out, not to mention the action scenes looks amazing, AND they have an awesome cast fitting each character perfectly. As for your really retarded comment about it being too much like Narnia, that's a load of bull, this is nothing like Narnia :/
I'm gunna have to see this movie at least three times while it's still in the theaters.
