Apr 16 2008First Look at Scarlett: 'G.I. Joe' Might Slightly Alter Our Childhood Memories!

gi-joe-scarlett.jpg

When I was a kid, G.I. Joe's Scarlett wore a mock turtleneck with a one-piece yellow swimsuit thing over it. She was also 3 and 3/4 inches high, and starred as the subject of numerous lurid fantasies. Now look at this, a full grown woman in black spandex and body armor. My point? That her outfit is slightly different than in my vague memories, and I am pissed.

Oh Hamburgers... They're taking the goddamned X-men route.

Oh...it looks like she's wearing a thong. Nice touch.

Wow. That's so goddam hot ... my boner is like a screming viking right now.

Great, another fantasy escape movie that can't be comfortable with the fact that its for kids and not supposed to be taken so seriously. We get a bunch of pretty people in Matrix black leather spandex who vaguely resemble the colorful heroes we remember from our childhood. Not to mention they're no longer "A Real American Hero"... now they're a European special operations force... I blame Tim Burton's Batman for this whole mess...

That's exquisite.

I totally am watching G.I. Joe for her.

If you look at this redhead hot piece of ass dressed in a black tight outfit and all you can think about is..."She doesn't dress like an exact replica of a toy from 20 years ago!", you need to move out of your mom's basement and admit you actually like guys!

Shockingly, they actually gave her the crossbow. Well played.

The point is, she looks like Scarlett. Yellow outfit or not.

That's cool, as long as there are still plenty of beaver shots and girl/girl stuff.

They got an actress with the nearly oversized proportions of comics and cartoons. Bravo.. Well done.

number 9, as a gay who liked gi joes in the eighties, it does get tiresome that they make these movies with little to no resemblance to the source material, since hollywood is such a rip off, rehash of old ideas, why not go with what made them cool in the first place? if you arent following the story, and you arent keeping the characters looking the way they should> WHY bother calling it GI joes why not call it something else ....the only reason they are calling it gi joes is becasue they know we will want to see it, so for me i say give us what we want, i dont want a transformers movie filled with shia and only five lines of diologue from optimus, i dont want an aeon flux fully clothed and surrounded by bright colors, and i dont want a gi joe movie with them all in xmen suits,( which btw was also annoying, give them the real xmen suits, we know we are seeing a movie baised on a comic dont try to kid us)

I have the desire to lay my wilted member across her smooth, white forehead until it is stiff enough to use for a towel rack. Then, I will seduce and mount her favorite handbag until it is well ruined. I will throw a twenty over my shoulder and leave then, forgetting my pants, which contain my house and car keys as well as my wallet and money. I will have to hitchhike home, pantsless and afraid, and wait in the hallway until my building superintendent wakes up at one in the afternoon, at which time I will implore him to shoot my doorknob off and allow me inside to feed all of my cats and wash my grandma's hair before Jeopardy comes on at 4.

That would be a perfect evening.

I hear what you saying Trevor, but which single G.I. Joe source material do you focus on-GI Joe (the soldier), GI Joe (80's strike team vs cobra), GI Joe Extreme, GI Joe Sigma whatever. In the comicbooks Scarlet wore at least two different costumes and loved Snake-Eyes, but in the cartoon she wore just one outfit and liked only Duke. Every time they come out with something new some old fans cringe while they pick up newer fans that will take the concept to the next generation. Most of the main characters of GI Joe have worn different costumes over the years, because it allowed them to market new toys and figures, just like this movie will do. Sometimes what looks good in a cartoon just looks silly in real life. An as a straight guy who liked X-Men I really "didn't" want to see Hugh Jackman running around in yellow spandex with bright blue underwear and gloves, but if he had of worn the late 80's brown outfit I might overlook the cheese factor of the costume MAYBE.

Are you retarded ... you WANT them to source the original material ? Have you seen the original material. Most of it looks like crap. Sure it looked cool to us when we were young, but that was fricking 20 years ago ! Who do you think they are trying to appeal to, us ? Hell no, sure they want us to go to the movie too for Naustalgic sake. But they want to lure in a whole new crowd of young kids and thus revamping the costumes is logical. Besides, I would take this look over the old any day.

Scarlet looks hot; we saw snake eyes and he looks cool. Now, if only Cobra Commander looks cool, i'm sold. If Sorpentor looks awesome, that'll be a just a bonus.

I agree with you guys that say that outfit is pretty bad... they shouldn't have her wear that. But unlike many of you, I feel that she shouldn't wear the outfit from the original show either! That would look terrible on her as well. In fact, I don't think the fans will ever be able to agree on an outfit that is acceptable for her to wear! The only compromise? Don't have her wear anything at all. That seems like a solution that will please everyone. A lot.

#8 is dead on. She looks awesome. As a guy who always found the original G.I.Joe series kind of stupid, I'm really liking the direction of this movie so far. Hell, I'm ready to buy her action figure.

Barnacles!

I can respect the costumes part, and the people bitching about X-Men, alright, have the costume complaints. But GI Joe has always been about the US Armed forces and their allies/enemies. Of anything, GI Joe should be the most realistic movie out there given they have strengths but no super powers. Aside from a little eye candy, she's wearing the femme equivalent of Batman's latest suit which is based from real hardware. Now be quiet and admire the redheads beautiful curves as I do.

Body armor? More like BOOBY armor by the looks of it.

I totally LOLed.

She looks like she stole that from the Baroness closet!

i swear,if they destroy any little part of the coolness that is stormshadow i'll blow up their production facility! to much work is done to "upgrade" the looks and costumes of characters they(production and prop designers)almost have no time to mangle the story lines of my favorite chilhood heroes.

#13 you mean you shoved snowjob in your ass?

You know we have mixed reaction here BUT look at the Iron Man movie. Iron Man has had TONES of costumes but they keep the look and feel of the character. They stayed true to the material and respected it. And what did we get ? A FRIGGIN Great comic movie! And non comic fans love it too! GI-Joe should be approached the same way. Am I expecting an EXACT translation of the costumes? No, but don't use the argument that its suppose to be "real" looking otherwise why would snake eyes carry a damn sword or Scarlet use a crossbow. They are not military issue. Same can be said about the first X-men movie. Put em in black leather cause that is more "realistic?" then the plot of the movie a stupid comicbook plot from like the 60's. I'm gonna turn all the worlds leaders into Mutants with this machine that uses my power of magnetism? to cause mutations? Snake-eyes looks great! Why not have Scarlet in a Tan turttleneck? They do have Tan material in the army. All I'm saying is be faithful to the material.

That's Rachel Nichols, she's an ex-model and actress who's biggest role was in Alias. Fucking love her, she's exquisite. Hopefully this be her big break.
*unf* *unf*
