Apr 11 2008First Look at Pixar's 'Up'--Made by a MACHINE

up-pixar-render.jpg

Remember that concept art from Pixar's Up that showed up a couple months ago? Well, now there's a fully computer-rendered version, perfectly recreating the image save for the inclusion of several exciting new door locks. Like meeting your dubious online girlfriend for the first time, the similarity to the original photo is sort of an anticlimax, though it's also a relief that it's not an old guy. Though this actually is an old guy, so I'm not sure this analogy makes any sense.

Thanks, Meg.

Thanks again Meg.

I dunno, Pixar could animate my bathroom habits after a chili cheese burrito and it would be pretty cool. (BTW, if anyone at Pixar is reading this... I'm available... and have the wicked munchies)

I liked the concept art better. I'm waiting for everyone to realize that 3d ain't so cool, and that there's a certain kind of magic in old school 2d.

The news paper repeat a lot of the same stories.....

I'm with #3.

aw shit, I actually thought it was going to be 2D. People need to realize that 3D has been overdone, 2D animation is much more expressive.

#7, that is a ridiculous comment. If you're going to critique computer animation, at least make an argument that makes sense, eh?
