The Pangs have recreated their 2000 Thai deaf/mute hitman redemption story for American audiences, only all the deaf/mute part has been exchanged for the intense, dumbfounded looks and verbal quips of Nicolas Cage. Not only that, it looks like the visually arresting quality of the original has been downplayed as well, leaving us with just another bland chronicle of Nic Cage's stringy, artificial hair--this time with more guns. I don't know if it's worse that this is how other nations feel America has to be pandered to or that they're probably right.
