Mar 6 2008'Wanted' Trailer Continues Quest to be 'The Matrix'
As I've mentioned before, I have an open but shameful love of Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. It definitely has its flaws, but I admire it's commitment to cheesecake antics and its resolute defiance in the face of logic and physical laws. (Make no mistake--I still think director McG is a turd.)
From the looks of this second trailer, Wanted tries to get by on the same combination of sex appeal and physics-defying action as Full Throttle, but makes the mistake of trying to rationalize its absurdity. Like The Matrix, the explanation relies on being part of a select group of world-manipulators--or something like that--a skill demonstrated through the usual method of countless slow-motion bullets. Or, to be more precise, slow-motion bullets with the word "goodbye" etched on the side. Because that's totally sweet, right?

So it's Bedazzled meets Jumper meets The Matrix meets Bruce Almighty meets Gone in Sixty Seconds with a dash of Mr & Mrs Smith.
Was Shia LaBeouf not available?
Props to her philanthropy, but I still don't get the sex appeal of Skeletor. She hasn't been hot since Hackers.

No it's not sweet... and you should be shot for even suggesting it to be in the realm of sweetness.

You know this is based on a comic book right? They used to have straight up superpowers, but I guess with Wolverine and Watchmen, they wanted to break the mold, so although they have superpowers, they just don't have costumes, or use the words "superpowers". Still looks cool, in a "I wonder what they're gonna do next" type of way.

Hey Cara, here's a comment; stop spamming other blogs with your bullshit.
On topic, it looks like a somewhat entertaining renter or discount matinée flick

Good lord McAvoy's American accent is shaky in the beginning. And what's with invariably casting him opposite tall women (Jolie, Hathaway, Knightley, Hall)? The dude's 5'7"! This looks shit, by the way.

The comic book was awesome, really good Millar. The movie looks like a steaming pile of shit. Jolie's character in the comic book was based on Halle Berry playing Catwoman. Everyone else was a good send up of the old school DC villains, too. I think that element of parody may be totally lost here, not to mention that it sounds like they're trying to inject some moralizing element into it when the comic book was completely, gleefully amoral. Fuck Hollywood. Seriously, save your movie ticket money and get the comic book instead.

I recently found Red Box which has the DVD's for a $1 at grocery stores. I instantly thought that is how I would see this movie. Actually since my phone has web I found a promo code and got a movie for $.50. Almost felt guilty but that is their problem.
Is Wanted the one that Millar was saying he would have Eminem in?

This was one of the first comic books I was introduced to and it was amazing. But Angelina's character was black (Halle yes) and Wesley was based on Eminem. There were super powers and villans abounding and a lot of crazy Xrated dialogue even for a comic.
So what
the hell
is THIS?!!!!!! Is this movie for real?

I am so glad to finally find someone with the same open yet shameful love of Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Marry me.

Is it just me, or is Angelina looking old? She used to have such smooth skin. In this, she looks like she's spending too much time in the sun adopting third world countries' babies.
Don't get me wrong, she's lovely. I just think she's getting old in the face.
