Mar 21 2008Snake Eyes is Accurate

snake-eyes-is.jpg

Just in case you didn't pick up a copy of USA Today while getting coffee with the hordes of senior citizens in McDonald's this morning, here's what you missed: the first published, official photograph from next year's G.I. Joe live action film. And of course the image is of the awesomest character from the comic book series/cartoon show/toy line, the gun-toting, masked, mute ninja Snake Eyes. Requisite comic book movie sculpted-muscle suit aside, I must say that Ray Park definitely looks the part in this costume. At the very least, based on this image, Stephen Summers appears to be shepherding a visually accurate interpretation of the franchise.

so cool.I saw this pic before on a celeb site called ‘S earching Millionaire dot com’!

cant this spamwhore be muted too?

very cool. i hope summers stays this true to the rest of the characters and makes it gritty and real sort of like casino royale. the worst thing that could be done is to make it super cheesy like the pierce brosnan bond movies.

Holy shit. I just turned 8 again.

LOL, I think that's about the most positive commentary about a movie news item I've EVER read on this site.

Vic

"Holy shit. I just turned 8 again."

QFT.

Wow...I must say I'm surprised. It actually looks accurate.

Wow, I actually really like the costume they've created!!

This is a photo of a maquette figure of Snake Eyes to be sold to all you who suddenly feel 8 again. I doubt the actual costume will look as good.

It might not look so bad, remember the wind-up guy from Hellboy I? His suitis along the same lines minus the trench coat and he was bad-ass.

to bad these pics are about 4 days old now ;)

Wow, people are actually bothering to complain about some news item being posted just 4 days after release? How long before people start complaining that 'this is, like, already a couple of hours old'.

Hmmm, Ray park could and should olay Grey Fox in the MGS Movie!

Ray park could be any short high flying dude. Hes supposedly supposed to be Iron Fist in that movie... whenever they decide to do it. But I do like ray park. Too bad GI joe is gonna blow a cock. This would be my transformers... this was the show I loved growing up along with ghostbusters and the turtles. But I just don't see this being good at all. If they gimp out Cobra Commander in the short time hes supposed to be in the movie thats when I will scream fire in the theater.

cool

It looks more like he is blade, the red on the arm looks like the writing in Blade.

If this film is still as un-American as originally planned, I'll be boycotting it, as should all Americans.

@19

I'm gonna crash a plane into your house.

This take me back to the days when i was using firecrackers on my G.I JOES. and blowing up my bases .. and mixing body parts. man that was fun.

@19

I'm going to wrestle with your wife and make hybrid asian/white babies

@19

Does that include recently arrived Americans, American-Chinese, American-Vietnamese, African Americans, Italian Americans, or just trailer trash white supremacist Americans?

My arse is Un-american

@#1

"Polly", give it up; your blog sucks.

Ever since I watched the cartoons, I wondered when they'd make a live action movie...Since they did the classics, Super Mario Bros., TMNT, Transformers, etc.

I hope it goes well.

Dammit!
Ray Parks gets to play every kewl character-
..Toad, Nightcrawler, Darth Maul, now, SNAKE EYES!

I guess its like it was, in the 1980's when that tall black dude
played all the "giant" parts (Harry from Harry & The Hendersons, Predator, ED 209 from Robocop...

Oh, well-
..I'm seein' that movie, tho!
