Mar 27 2008'My Sassy Girl' Trailer Finally Acknowledges Nerds Love Pretty, Extroverted Girls
Screenwriters continue to know exactly how to please us sad, withdrawn losers with yet another story of a nebbish dweeb miraculously brought out of his shell by a wild, out-of-his-league, eccentric girl (Elisha Cuthbert, this time). So what sets this one apart from the legions of Garden States, Eternal Sunshines, Watching the Detectives, etc.? It's a remake of Yeopgijeogin geunyeo! Also, it appears to have been made in 1993.

Dharma & Greg the movie

The Korean version was pretty funny and cute. I hope Cuthbert can pull of crazy ass insane and viciously violent in a somehow scary and funny way as well as the Korean girl did.

is that 'Joey' from Hackers? I see still no love for Matthew Lillard

Not very truthful from the trailer. Most girls like this suffer from sort of drug dependency, crazy fun sexual perversions, and/or gender identity issues.

Yeah...I really don' t want to watch a butchered version of my favorite Korean movie. Can't American writers come up with something original to film these days? Sequels, remakes, and adaptations is all we get...sigh.

This actually looks similar to the Korean version.
The Korean movie was a horrible, horrible movie.

um, how about "the girl next door", how could you miss it, same exact idea with Elisha Cuthbert too

Can we please boycott this movie... this kind of junk encourages otherwise wife material girls to act stupid and make me break up with them.

I doubt this will be able to compare to its Korean counterpart. This doesn't even interest me in the slightest.

As much as I want to hate this move, and no matter how much I try to avoid it, I know I'm probably going to go see it and a part of me will probably like it. I hate being a sap.

I can't believe they would name a movie, "My Sassy Girl" and make no reference to Sassy magazine (the life-changing alternative teen magazine of the late '80s and early '90s ). I feel betrayed.
The Korean version sounds cool though. I will check that out.

Amph- The Korean version was also named My Sassy Girl, which is the (rough) translation of the title given in Korean above.
That said, the original version is pretty hilarious. It gets a little weird in the end, but it's still my favorite Korean comedy movie (now that I think about it, I think 3 Iron is my #1 all-time favorite. It is a beautiful movie that you should check out as well)

umm ya what a pill of dog shit movie. The original is so much better, why don't they release it here in the states. It would do so much better then this Pill of dog shit.

Looks like it's going to be bad. There are some cultural differences from the original that make the movie really funny - but those cultural aspects obviously don't come into play when it's an american movie.
They could do a decent job w/ it but it's never gonna be as good as the first one was.

awwwwww....they cut out the barfing ramen on the old man's head scene :(!! Ah well....it's kind of interesting seeing how they made the effort to Americanize some things (like the slapping the other person every time a foot crosses a line).
E.C. is alright I think ; she's most like the original "The Girl" when she's dancing in the hall but I feel like she is missing the underlying SADNESS of E.C's character O_o
I hope this adaption gets all the nuances of the original instead of just following the storyline verbatim and tosses in some satire about (American) culture too - after all it was the satire that made the original amusing. As for getting the nuances of the original though, seeing as how the significance behind the single rose is taken away in the trailer, I don't think this movie will be delving very much into "The Girl's" past which is worrying :(. The trailer didn't capture the essence of the movie very well :P.Should've done less lovey-dovey talk and more crazy girl action...it comes off as a generic romance.... I doubt the average movie goer will see this. I wish they mentioned a bit more about the "people from the future"....
I'm not a huge fan of the original My Sassy Girl but the original story was definitely a head over other chick flicks that are a dime a dozen and deserves a good adaption.
