Mar 26 2008McKellen Confirms He'd Don Robe, Beard, Long Hair Again
Responding to some questions on his "E-Post" (apparently what old guys are calling blogs now), Sir Ian McKellen has announced he would indeed return to Middle Earth for The Hobbit if the opportunity comes.
Q: ...Will you again be our Gandalf in "The Hobbit" now that the deal is settled?A: Yes I will, if Peter Jackson and I have anything to do with it, he being the producer and me being, on the whole, a very lucky actor.
Continuing the question & answer section, McKellen went on to respond to the second most pertinent query regarding the fantasy saga: When shooting Lord of the Rings, all of the key actors totally paired off into gay couples, right? Shockingly, McKellen denied such gossip, claiming these "straight" actors had "girlfriends", and blaming the rumors on "the fevered imagination of slashers."
If you ask me, his deft use of the term "slasher" asks the more pressing question: Sir Ian reads gay fan fiction?

Yeah, yeah, Gandalf likes dick. So what?
No surprise, really. Ian McKellan, Andy Serkis, and Hugo Weaving are absolute necessities.
Care to weigh in this time, LenS?

You know the only reason he signed on for the first three was because he thought they said 'Dildo' Baggins.

If Peter Jackson calls him about this product, will he be aware that Sir Ian is not actually a wizard -- will he want Sir Ian to used his acting skills to pretend that he is a wizard?
And if he is casted as Gandalf, how will Sir Ian know what to say? . . . It will be written down for him in the script. How will he know where to stand? . . . Someone will tell him.

I don't see why sexuality is an issue. A person can be what they want as long as they don't bother me with it. We all know Sir Ian is homosexual. Not gay. Homosexual. Let's be proper here. But here he is, a homosexual, defending straight people. Apparently he has respect for the actors. Why can't we have respect for Sir Ian and not bash him for it? I think he's a great actor, and I don't agree with his lifestyle. But I will NEVER bash someone for their sexuality. It's his choice, and it isn't like we're trying to date him or something. Maybe the people talking about him are secretly in love with him. Sheesh. Kids these days.

Can someone tell #5 and #6 to shut up? No one bashed Ian McKellen for being gay; we're just cracking jokes about it because that's what we're damn well here for. If you can't take a joke, get out and find some slash fiction site like Ian mentioned.
