Mar 11 2008'JCVD' Trailer is... Pretty Good?
Is it a possible that a semi-fictional account of the life of Jean-Claude Van Damme--if made effectively sad and funny, tragically self-aware of the actor's joke-like status and resumé, while adding a plot about his involvement in a bank robbery--could actually be pretty great? Strangely, if this trailer to JCVD is any indication, that just might be the case. It feels a bit forced-edgy-Snatch-eque at times, but there's still something oddly compelling about it. Who would have thought Van Damme would do a scene as a father in a courtroom custody battle that wouldn't end in his snapping the judge's tibia with a jump kick?

doesnt look half bad really. Much better than all of his movies put together. not the best thing ever though by a long shot. But I think I would like to maybe see that.

Wonder why JoBlo.com's little animated promo sequence came at the end? Aren't those usually in the beginning so we have to sit through it before the good stuff?

So is the movie mainly is French, or mainly in English? I couldn't tell from the trailer.

"In Hell" was, believe it or not, actually a pretty good prison movie. J.C.V.D. looks pretty awesome though.
