Mar 10 2008'Ice Age 3' Has Dinosaurs, Apparently
It's hard to say it much better than Meg, who sent this in: "New poster for Ice Age 3. What the hell?"
What the hell indeed. I only have vague memories of catching part of Ice Age on TV, but I don't remember there being dinosaurs. So they're just adding dinosaurs, now? I'm not saying a cartoon has to be history book-accurate, but come on, at least have some consistency. I'll graciously accept a Flintstones-style world--where man meets dinosaur meets mammoth meets the voice of Ray Ramano--but you have to start me there. To begin with a reasonably faithful vision of early mammals and then say, "You know what? Besides using one to open a stubborn can, I'm basically out of sabre-tooth tiger jokes. How about we add dinosaurs?" is more lazy and insulting than usual. Adding dinosaurs after mammals? Come on. And why is it so big? Is this like Godzilla or an actual dinosaur? Do they know the difference? What the hell?

Please! Please let this be a prequel! Yes, a historically inaccurate prequel, but nevertheless...PLEASE!

I'm gonna guess Dinosaur frozen in the ice thaws... hilarity (supposedly) ensues.

Yep, pretty much looks like they ran out of lame-ass jokes and things for 'ol Romano and friends to recycle. I think I've seen about four minutes of both movies (how many were there? I really don't know) and I have to say they sucked, sucked ass big time.
I like that it looks like the same characters and then they add a "giant" T-Rex (it's for the hilarity!)
I concur Jimbo...I am sure hilarity, supposedly, ensues.
God...it's terrible!

Ah, Jimbo, you already mentioned what I was thinking. The dinosaur we saw frozen in the ice gets thawed, most likely.

And why does the Dino look EXACTLY like the one from Disney's "Meet The Robinsons?"

Now, I'm willing to at least try this movie before knocking it, but I do think it looks more than just a little silly having dinosaurs in the ice age. Maybe they *did* get thawed out for this one. But even so, whoever said that this movie has no scientific accuracy clearly doesn't know the first two. I mean, really, those were no more accurate than this one will be (having all kinds of beasties from all kinds of prehistoric eras), but it's still all in the name of entertainment. If we made movies to be perfectly scientifically accurate, then we would have nothing to work with in terms of material for story.
But dinosaurs? It seems kind of fun to do, and not impossible to pull off. I mean in the second film, for example, you had one kind of creature (a stork/penguin/loon kind of bird) amidst the crowds of animals that supposedly lived 20,000 years ago, when I know for a fact that *that* particular bird lived in the time of the dinosaurs. But it's all in fun. Sure dinosaurs and mammoths didn't live together. But then, sloths didn't run summer-camps. And squirrels can't survive thousand-foot free-falls. And reptiles can't swim in ice water...
Fuggedaboudit, it's all for the sake of having fun; it's just a story.

if you want accuracy watch a doco mamals didn't,dont and never talk, this is aimed at children who watch out for Santa and the Tooth fairy(hopfully not together) so they dont care as long as it's fun ,remember that?

Okay... This looks JUST like the T-Rex that was frozen in the Ice Cave in the Original "Ice Age" movie. When the little baby Cro-Magnon gave the "Live Long and Prosper" Vulcan sign as they went past the Space Ship frozen in ice.
C'mon... Have some FUN!!! You tellin' Me that You believed "AVP" but You cannot fathom the Humor in this little farce??? Get a Funny Bone Replacement then, 'cuz yours is missing if you think this film is supposed to be "Historically Accurate". Geez, did You believe that the Girl Mammoth in the 2nd film really hung from trees like a Opossum??? Earth to Viewers... HAVE SOME FUN ALREADY!!!! Lighten up!!!

I agree with you. It didn't make any sense when I saw the poster, and it doesn't look ike any dinosaur I'v ever known; it's mutant!

And also, that does not look exactly like the dinosaur frozen in the ice. it's a lot bigger, and it only has two fingers (which means that it's a T-Rex) the one in the ice had three.
