Did you realize the perfect human has been created in a laboratory? It's true! And he's been cast as the lead in the ill-conceived, Simon Pegg-less American adaptation of the British sitcom Spaced! Fox's head of casting, Marcia Shulman, found Australian über-man Josh Lawson, and described his perfection to the Hollywood Reporter:
We all have been describing him as Matthew Perry meets Robin Williams.
Matthew Perry and Robin Williams--in one body??? Does science know no bounds? Will the lab create a Debra Messing/Kathy Griffin chimera for the female lead, and if so, will Lawson mate with her? God, can you imagine that beautiful, hilarious progeny? You wouldn't be able to look at it without breaking into spontaneous laughter and applause.

Too bad...he may be a great guy and everything, but this show is a doomed rip off of a truly wonderful and deeply loved show. As an actor, he's going to take what parts he can get...but this one is a really bad first choice.

He was pretty funny on the original Thank God You're Here in Australia.
This show is a fucking travesty, though.

That is kind of a shame. Such a waste, he genuinely is a very funny guy.
Download any episode of Thank God You're Here with him in it and you'll see just how clever and amusing he is. He always manages to find something on the set to drink or a female castmember to make out with.

I'm really torn in half now. I'm completely and ethically against the way the whole thing has been handled and the way they have treated Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevenson and Edgar Wright. Spaced is one of my favourite tv shows of all time and I don't think it should be treated so shabby and Americanized. But Josh Lawson, dear god, is a brilliant human being. He deserves big things. So while I want to see the whole thing fail, I don't want to see Josh fail. Someone kidnap him and find him a better paying job quicksmart!

ah hell with you and your american rubish remake of a brit great. spaced was amazing, the damn sodding remake is being written by will and grace writers. I mean can you get any worse..oh yea you say the guy replacing pegg is some austie who is like mathew perry mixed with robin williams which by the way equals the devil. Seriously like water should be turning into blood, cats and dogs mating seriously like if this show is made it's going to cause a tear in the space-time continuum and suck everything into a black hole and..... poof just like that there goes existence.Like seriously noone wants this, call it something else, seriously quit it fox stop trying to do an office or ugly betty because you guys suck. At least they had cared enough to adapt the stories and get ideas from the creators.
