Feb 5 2008'Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden' Trailer, Music By Rockapella

I want to admit right now, I really hate Morgan Spurlock. I hated his essay-on-the-obvious, Hey, It Turns Out McDonald's Isn't That Good For You, and from the trailer, I'd say I'll hate Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? even more.

Invoking the same witty reference The Today Show uses when they send Matt Lauer to god-knows-where, Spurlock is once again arrogant enough to think that he and his ironic mustache are a fitting subject for a documentary, as the film follows him in his preparation and search for bin Laden. Of course, from everything I've heard, Spurlock does not find bin Laden, making this self-indulgent thesis even more obvious than the last. Hey, it turns out it is hard to find Osama bin Laden!

Admittedly, I commend him and his crew for their bravery in embarking on such a task, and their search surely does merit some coverage, but if seeing Spurlock's travels means tolerating his cocky-highschooler-who-found-a-camera filmmaking and comedy, (asking random mall patrons if they've seen Osama?! Crazy!) I don't think it's worth it.

Kudos for your Carmen Sandiego television gameshow reference. PBS and Lynne Thigpen -- two of my favorite things.

Well, if this has the kind of drama that the McDonald's movie had, then count me in.

I mean, when Morgan woke up in the middle of the night and said that he didn't feel good, I knew that McDonald's was bad. Plus, it helped prove his thesis. That's good journalism.

You seem pretty spiteful on this one... He's a lot less annoying than listening to Michael Moores ear drum blistering voice for an hour and a half. And I don't think anyone disagreed that McDonalds wasn't good for you, but no one really knew to what extent it could hurt you... which he brought light on and really cause a reform to the whole fast food industry. So fuck it, he's got a cool mustache.

wait, so he doesn't even find him??? what a rip off. should have called it "i look for this one guy ironically for 90 minutes"

I liked his last movie. Yeah it was obvious Mc. Donalds and other fast food are bad for you, but the movie did a good job of underscoring it, which really needs to happen again and again.

I just wanted to say that I agree on your assessment of that piece of shit documentary he did a few years back. That being said, I'm not even gonna bother seeing this trailer.
:-)

If this self-absorbed Michael Moore2.0 was so hell bent on demonstrating that eating cheeseburgers everyday could kill you then he could have done us all a favor and followed through to the end. Sounds like this movie has the same let down. Way to go Geraldo.

I like him more than Moore cause he seems more real and doesn't load his movies with bullshit, and he can grow a mighty man beard.

This trailer makes the movie look fun. I like fun. I cracked up when they showed the guys pointing to where he is.

This was a big damn deal at Sundance. That right there tells me this is something I will skip.

Anybody who actually saw AND paid attention to "Super Size Me" would know that it's not just the (omfgwtf so obviously bad) food that fucked up Spurlock, but the virtually complete lack of exercise to reflect how much the average American actually engages in. And of course it purports to be a documentary, as he really took part in the experiment and its filming, but without entertainment value, say unwisely gorging oneself for a month straight on junk, you get the roller-coaster pacing and length of a Ken Burns film. You can't take something at face value and run with it- that's just retardation. This judgementalism based on glib oversimplification makes us all more likely to be fleeced with nonsensical catchphrases while simultaneously getting raped in the eyehole.

Just my opinion. Vote Kodos '08.

Come on guys,

It's a movie, it's suppposed to be entertaining.

If anyone thought that he would find Osama by the end, there a couple of cans short of a six-pack......
