Feb 27 2008How Many Jokes Can You Cram on the 'Superhero Movie' Poster?
Let's count!
1. Simon Rex's equivalent of The Human Torch has caught himself on fire. See, traditionally The Human Torch has the power to manipulate fire at will. Why would he catch himself on fire?!
2. Wolverine is using said fire to roast marshmallows--on his claws! One would normally use a device that is not part of their mutant anatomy, like a long fork that doesn't come out of your wrist.
3. Leslie Nielsen's shirt says "With great power comes hot bitches"; the actual Spider-Man quote is "With great power comes great responsibility." This is funny because it's like a BustedTee, which are always funny.
4. Wolverine's middle claw is slightly longer than the other two. Those familiar with gestural expletives will love this one.
5. Storm is surprised she's electrocuting Professor X's penis.
6. The Cerebro helmet Professor X wears to focus his psychic powers is being used as a drink hat, an established comic prop. And he's black.
7. Though not explicitly laid out, the maturity of the rest of the gags imply Dragonfly guy probably has his penis in the popcorn. And he's giving Pamela Anderson a wet willy, which is sort of a joke if you're 8 and disgusting.
8. Pamela Anderson wears a necklace that says "Dynamic Duo". This term is synonymous with fictional crimefighters Batman and Robin, but holds a lewder meaning when balanced across Anderson's un-aging cleavage.
9. The unfortunate participation of all these desperate actors.
Did I miss any? It's hard for me to see them with my eyes squinted in unending laughter.

Maaaaan you crack me up!

I don't think Dragonfly guy has his penis in the popcorn. He's got one arm wrapped around Pam Anderson, and the other hand is visible, soooo, unless that's his leg wrapped around her waist I'd say we know where his penis is.

I love how they added a gratuitous spider below the title as if to say, "oh yeah, and Spiderman."
4. Oscar - February 27, 2008 5:39 PM
Wolverine is sitting on Leslie's lap. He's a little to happy about it also. I bet Wolverine wouldn't mind smoking Leslie's cigar.

#2 - Okay I apologize but the O.C.D. side of me has to correct your comical conclusion. I think that the artist who designed this poster intended us to percieve that the appendage wrapped around Ms. Anderson's waist is, in fact, the man's right arm. (Check the angle of his left shoulder.) This assumedly serves to merely establish his basic superpower/sexual aggression rather than add to the penis joke which, based on the placement of the popcorn box, seems to be genuine and self-contained. Once again, I am sorry for clogging the comment section with editorial waxing which will likely invite some ridicule.

Is mock-Storm not shocking mock-Xavier's crotch there?
7. Farticus - February 27, 2008 8:21 PM
I still say my Fantastic Two joke is better.
8. boinsie - February 27, 2008 8:41 PM
What does Steve Martin's vest say? "WIth great Power Comes Hot Bittorrent"?
9. Drew - February 27, 2008 8:57 PM
Didn't they already pretty much cover all of this in the horrendous Epic Movie? Wow, does this film look bad.

I was wondering when someone would give Leslie Nielson a job again. Those bingo games at the retirement home aren't free.

The arm of the wheelchair has a bong bowl.
13. Tammy - February 28, 2008 9:34 AM
That's not a bong bowl, it's the little joystick to move around the wheelchair, however good point, you'd think the Xavier fill in would move the wheelchair by mind control rather than using his arms.

This is the most depressing thing I've seen this week.
Are Dragonflys knows for their extendible, flexible limbs then? I thought it was a tail. And is that thing on black X's tie anything? Should be a clock, like Flava Flav, because he's black as well.
15. TetraShiva - February 28, 2008 10:05 AM
Oh, I get it.
Mock-Storm is shocking Mock-Prof's crotch and he can't feel it because he's paralyzed. Hilarious.
That's not a bong on the wheelchair, that's the driving stick... thingy...
That thing wrapped around Pamela has to be his arm. I couldn't tell what that was earlier.
*sigh* No desire to see this. It'll probably debut at #2 or something, prompting more of this crap...

There has got to be a way to stop these guys from making these horrible parody movies. I swear, if Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or John McCain would say, "the first thing I'm doing is throwing those guys that make those parody movies in jail", they'd sew the presidency up.

pam anderson will fight evil with her hepatitus c
18. shi_towne - February 28, 2008 1:27 PM
C'mon guy's, the Dragonfly appendage wrapped around Ms. Anderson's waist is NOT his right arm...that is clearly visible. and the left arm is around her shoulders with the index finger in her ear, It has to be his TAIL that's wrapping around her body!!!.
19. Bobeyo - February 29, 2008 8:22 PM
@14: Actually, interestingly enough, dragonflies can barely even move their arms and legs. They can only use them to light on objects, but cannot actually walk with them.
Also, dragonfly tails are also entirely inflexible. They remain erect at all times. Darn, did I just slip in another penis joke?
20. Krebz - February 29, 2008 11:20 PM
I'm filled with joy that Simon Rex is still getting work.
21. Dave - February 29, 2008 11:56 PM

23. too too - March 3, 2008 1:13 PM
Irony. Gotta love that Tony Stark.
24. Leif Jones - March 8, 2008 1:12 PM
At least, thankfully, they didn’t call it Comic Book Movie (some people still confuse the genre with the medium).
All I can really say about this is that it seems to be populated with actors who can’t get work in any of the movies it’s supposedly making fun of. Sad.
25. Priest - July 16, 2008 12:07 PM
lol so much discussion over drake bell aka the dragonfly's mystery appendage. Kinda sad that we can't tell what it is...
26. eugene - June 8, 2009 3:47 PM
dragonfly man cracks me up if he wasn't in that movie it wouldn't be better, so10/10 for drakes acting.
