Feb 11 2008AM Poster Post: 'Smart People' Continues Trend
I really thought I was kidding a few months ago when, following the posters for Knocked Up and Strange Wilderness, I declared white text on sickly green with a diffused spotlight point as the new trend in comedy posters. Besides being nauseating to look at, it seemed far too specific to be a legitimate trend. Well, as you can see above, it turns out it's very real and very, very green. Now what?

I think they must be targeting people who care about the environment. They should throw in a picture of a Prius and some solar panels.

When I think "smart people" I think Sarah Jessica Parker, Dennis Quaid, Ellen Page, and especially, Thomas Haden Church.
Casting, you nailed it.

Dammit, Scooby, that's exactly what I was gonna say.

You know, green is the strongest color tied to memory, so maybe they've got some guy somewhere they talk to when they feel like they want to advertise on a low budget but still get noticed...."Maybe if we use green then people will actually remember the fact that this movie is coming out?".

I've been seeing your rule in effect all over the show here in The Dependencies. I don't think that theory about green = memory works, because it literally took me ten seconds to remember what movie we were talking about here. I timed me.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go RULE.
