Feb 21 20083D 'Coraline' Trailer, Only Not in 3D, and Now Not From Phone Camera

coraline-teaser.jpg

Remember when you saw a short teaser to the Henry Selick/Neil Gaiman 3D stop-motion collaboration, Coraline, and how you wished it were a little less recorded-on-a-cell-phoney? Me too. So here it is.

It's still suffering from the whole "look, this is 3D, so here's something comin' atcha!" affliction, but earns points for looking otherwise great, and for not allowing Brendan Fraser to shove a book at you.

Ehh, maybe

eh. second.

Shithouse. That looks creepy good.

I'll only watch this one if it's rated R

That looks like it could be okay....Neil Gaiman's not too bad a writer, and Stop Motion is always creepy as all hell.

Coraline was a good book, I'll definitely see the movie.

So, back when I worked in a used-clothing and toys store for children, I picked up Coraline, and was reading it while I was supposed to be working. My boss came in- the book went back and someone bought it the NEXT DAY while I was off. I couldn't remember the name of the book, and this bugged the shit outta me until I accidentally found it at my city's library a few months ago [about three years after I started it].

So. Good book. I was annoyed and mildly obsessed with it. I really don't like the 3D phenomenon [phenom-again?], but I'll probably see this.

Anorexic Pillsbury Doughboy? Sounds like fun -- I'm in!

I f'ing HATE 3-D. Enough with that nonsense. It's a gigantic waste of time, as it never really works that well.

Just make a regular film, already!

lol neil GAYMAN

i can't wait for this one.

and yes, russell reyes, i'm sure you're the first first to ever make that joke.
