Jan 28 2008'Meet the Spartans' Wins a Lame Parody of the Weekend Box Office

1. Meet the Spartans - I think we need to sit down and have a serious discussion about how this possibly made $18.7 million this weekend, and I think that discussion should be littered with shallow references to pop culture that might be mistaken for actual jokes.

2. Rambo - Stallone's body count easily bested 27 Dresses' dress count, earning $18.2 million.

3. 27 Dresses - $13.6 million, or almost $504,000 per dress.

4. Cloverfield - With a 68% drop to $12.7 million, it's still alive, but barely.

5. Untraceable - Your parents' combined fear and lack of understanding of this "internet" thing cost them a cumulative $11.2 million, though the mental damages could still rise as they continually ask you, "Could that really happen?"

Jesus fucking christ... people have no taste when it comes to this shit. From 2 of the 24 writers that brought you scary movie 12, comes Meet the Spartans! With a title parody of a fucking movie that came out like 3 years ago at least. Full of stupid jokes a toddler can make up while shitting in the bath tub and playing with it.

nice

with people indiscriminately spending their money on crap like "Meet the Spartans", it's no surprise that debt is such a huge problem in their country. even this retarded guy i know who saw it didn't think it was funny. and i imagine studios that produce movies like this bank hard on the spending power and word of mouth from the mentally deficient market. thank god the writer's are still on strike... we won't have to worry about a "Cloverfield" parody for at least a year.

cripes. i obviously meant "this country" and not "their country".

When I saw it was #1 last night, I couldn't wait to get on here and see the comments. I literally shouted a profanity when I read that.

And this isn't the only spoof movie coming out this year. Hey IWatchStuff or Vince (if he's still around), post the info of the SUPERHERO movie coming out

Dear Lord, this means they'll still keep making these horrible excuses for movies. MORE OF THEM ARE COMING! We're doomed.

Seriously! I mean the stuff thats in the trailer alone. (if I may continue on my rant at the top). The jokes are tired. The Acting is horrible. There are only so many times a fake Donald Trump can tell a character from a movie that they are fired. Then! Spider man or girl whatever it is steals his wig! Oh my god! thats so well thought out, I'm sure no ones ever make the joke that donald trump wears a wig! Classic! or the Say hello to my little friend joke with rambo in the trailer. So.... he has a midget with him... how good. If you watch all of those movies in a row (without your brain turning into liquid and seeping out of all the holes in your head first) you would see the say hello to my little friend joke in each one.

I would ask what the fuck is up with Hollywood allowing this shit to come out. But that would be stupid to ask. The box office speaks for itself. Stupid people go see stupid movies and clearly if every day life doesn't prove how tasteless most of America is, than the standings for things like this and Larry the cable guy meets batman (or whatever will come out next) do. Thanks for reading and goodnight!

The problem is that people are going to keep going to the theaters no matter what, so companies can keep lowering movie quality without losing any sales.

Ah come on. If you actually wanted a great movie you wouldn't go see one like this anyway. I knew going in it wasn't going to have great acting or anything like that and enjoyed it for what it is, not what it "could have been".

is that guy with the eyebrow piercings rubbing the other dudes nipple?
