Jan 8 2008'Chocolate' Trailer Has Good Kicking, Punching
With an Oscar-nominated film, an over-advertised mobile phone, and a popular confection already sharing the name (or close enough), Prachya Pinkaew's Chocolate has some pretty big shoes to fill. Surprisingly, even without the star power of Johnny Depp or a pumping Goldfrapp soundtrack, it manages to do quite a good job, with the Ong Bak director delivering another feature full of enough awe-inspiring martial arts for anyone whose standards rely on the total jump kick count.
It's not often a kick can make me mutter a "shit," but it turns out it might if it's done upside down after spinning through a narrow railing. I call it worth watching; if nothing else, you'll learn how you can slide under a table to avoid a projectile pallet--a good skill when you're aggressively confrontational and work on a pier.

Thanks to Jackie Chan, I think we've all grown fairly accustomed to the outtakes at the end of a film showing the near castrations that go on during the making of these films.
Hoever, I think this is the first time I've ever seen them in a PREVIEW. It's also the first time I've seen one of the stars carted away in a neck brace.
Hardcore.

Wow. were the b/w shots actual footage of actors getting f*cked up on set? Cause that's cool.

You know. I am quite a fan of any well-made karate movies. This one even has a decent plot as to explain why the heck she can do what she can. The protagonist is a girl...and the people who made it seemed to be getting hurt....a lot. Overall, I give it a 9/10 without even having seen it XD Of course, why would you guys care about my score, eh?
It's funny though because as long as the movie steps into the brainless-action category and it has not karate in it...that's when I start to hate it... unless they are classics... Why the heck am I writing all of this anyways?!
