The Signal: a cautionary tale of technology and regrettable tattoos. And if Ain't It Cool News says it will explode, it must be a true. They're not ones to litter their reviews with insane fanboy hyperbole.

Sure, the AICN blurb seems like a positive thing, but by throwing out the "cult classic" phrase aren't they pretty much dooming it to box office purgatory already?

Does the cult classic thing mean that its scientology approved?

One sure-fire way to make sure a movie isn't a cult classic is to prematurely call it one.

Is that Nihls (?) from Frazier?

Movies become cult classics when they develop a fanbase long after they fail at the box-office.

Nice to see such optimism up front!

Also, the plot seems kinda sorta like M. Night Shamaladingdong's newest film, The Happening, which is sure to be a hit since it stars Tony Devon!
