Dec 7 2007'Speed Racer' Trailer Simulates Brain of Juvenile Psychotics
Envision a jarring nightmare full of absurdly cliched dialogue, the Playstation game Wipeout, fan-fiction, epilepsy, ninjas, Michael Jackson's '80s wardrobe, all the worst parts of Star Wars: Episode I, and Maury Povich's ideal guest (a child who is both fat and prematurely aged), all filtered through the mind of a boy with ADHD. If you did it right, you're now pretty close to the trailer to Speed Racer, only more so.

Ok, I got chills. But to be honest, I don;t see this movie appealing to anyone that did not get hooked on the anime. My only hope is, that Spritle is kept locked in the back trunk.
Racer X catching the punch did look way lame, but the rest looked cool, even Pops!

It's like I took acid while the creators of Dragon Ball Z threw up on my brain

this doesn't look THAT bad when you remember that this is a PG family movie..plus it has Rain in it!
Rain is honestly the only reason why i am looking forward to this movie..he is a great actor and I can't wait for his Hollywood debut...although i am very nervous about his english speaking ability...

I think this looks great! I'm so sick of the gray/blue gray/black action films. A little color and craziness could really shake things up. Especially if this rakes in a ton of bucks.
I'm there.

I don't know how this movie could be any good at all. Wachowski brothers!?! Although, I can't be sure what is worse. This or Alvin & The Chipmunks
8. 123 - December 8, 2007 12:10 PM
Josh, it's not the Wachowski "brothers" anymore, not since the one began living his life as a woman.

Wow, crappy acting, crappy dialogue, and those effects look pretty goddamned terrible, too. Looks like the Wachowski's are turning out to be major one-hit wonders. How embarrassing.

this movie looks horrible.
i was hoping that emile hirsch could save it but it appears not.
the special effects are terrible.
i feel sad.

so the Wachowski brothers blew all their matrix money on booze, gummi worms, and hookers, right?
12. Sexton - December 10, 2007 12:34 AM
Some of those effects look kind of cheap and plasticy.
13. Matt - December 10, 2007 1:33 AM
actually #11, they blew it all on the transformation -_-.

please hollywood. Kill more of my childhood tv memories. You destroyed Garfield, Transformers, Flintstones, X-men, Batman, Alvin and the Chipmunks, etc. Why not Speed racer. While your at it you should go after Hanna Barara, and Loony toons. You haven't touched Heithcliff, GI joes, wacky races or smurfs yet. Better get on that!!
15. man2525 - December 10, 2007 11:12 AM
Sheridan,
They've already done a Flintstones movie (also with John Goodman) and at least one Looney Tunes "Spacejam" basketball movie.
They're going to release a GI Joe movie in 2009.
Personally, I'd like to see a Smurfs movie. That, or The Snorks.

Remember the cartoon? Its supposed to be total camp. What do you people want? It looks like a great fun campy movie with possible epilepsy warnings.
