Dec 7 2007Joker Cake-Opening Video, Plus the Number to Call, Plus Giant Asshole
Remember those shots I posted of what was inside the promotional cakes sent out by The Dark Knight marketing campaign? Well, for whatever reason, a cake was sent to Perez Hilton, so now you can see his video of the event. If your problem with the prior photographs was that they didn't include the obnoxious, stream-of-conscious ramblings of a neon-haired slug-man, he has graciously remedied that situation.
On the plus side, he does provide the phone number included in the cake (866-417-6188), even though the instructions specifically said not to reveal it. And, I have to admit, it's pretty funny when he starts getting excited about the actual cake again at the end.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in, I guess.

If you call that 866 # the address that they give is for The Promenade at Howard Hughes Center in Los angeles (Movie theatre + shopping center) Don't believe me? Go google it yourself. Wonder if there was something there... Not that it looked like Perez understood at all from the video haha.

In answer to Libbie, to get promotional items like this, you have to be a member of the press. Items such as this cake with a phone in it are most likely ONLY sent to members of the L.A. press who are HIGHLY seen. Unfortunately Perez Hilton falls into that category. His site, while ridiculously unprofessional, is widely seen and very popular, so therefore he gets the "good" promo items. I've run a multimedia movie review website for over four years, and have been writing movie reviews for over 15 years, and STILL don't get cool stuff like this. It's all about numbers and how high profile the press people are. This particular item was most likely produced in very low numbers, probably a few hundred at most, as a way of inviting select press members to attend a preview of the film. The sad thing is, as amazingly cool as that "invitation" was, most of the people it was sent to were probably not even interested or willing to attend the presentation. That's Hollywood.
