These pictures are very well lit, so the suit looks brighter and more gray than usual. I'm sure the dramatic lighting of the movie will make it look darker.

Joker scares the be-jesus out of me. That makeup is very well done, especially on bright film, so imagine what it's going to look like with dramatic lighting as well...

Joker doesn't look like Joker. He looks like some lame-ass emo kid in a Joker costume. The whole thing makes me very dissapointed.

Wow, I can't even recognize as Heath Ledger. Nor Christian Bale as Batman. Its like they are really the characters. CAN'T WAIT

Heath Ledger really looks the part, hopefully he has received some training, taken some notes or advice from Mike Hammil's Joker laughter.

IMO Batman's suit could be better (though it's not that I have the authority to point it out). Maybe the designer crew went for a Halo/GoW look, you know, special forces soldier uniform.

Joker is pretty stylish with that sweet red liner in his purple overcoat, but--what this?-- a wallet chain? Come on, Joker. No one wears wallet chains any more. Not even Hot Topics employees dressing ironically. Not even Brian Setzer. Get with the times if you want to be taken seriously as a super villain.

it's mark hamill not mike, and the batman suit is the shit, looks more like armor on top of a mesh like kevlar. seems more breatheable and more flexible. I'm in this kind of buisness so if the suit is more comfortable that means more batman on screen and less bruce.

The Batsuit looks alright... hopefully it will grow to my likings within time. And LEDGER looks VERY WELL like the Joker. Can't wait.

These photos were a very ill advised decision. I was so interested in the Joker before, but these photos have made him too cartoony, i actually believed he was bat shit mental before. Now he looks like a pantomime villain. Not Ledgers fault, but crap photographer and P.R, I mean you want to show a certain amount of darkness and you use an almost magnesium lit, white background.

I don't know guys, I think Ledger is going to shock evryone! People are to hung up on Jack Nicholson, and who else you have to compare that with, Cesar Romero?? Take Michael Keaton as an example, everyone laughed when he was revealed to play Batman. Some still think he was the best Batman ever(i like Bale better, personaly). We'll just have to wait and see.

He looks great with his new eye lift and lower face lift. What's the Big Deal everyone in Hollywood looks like this without their makeup on. Why should he be any different?

@6: Actually, it looks more like the nano-suits in Crysis. Hey, maybe that's what it is! A nanomachine suit! Which... would make him more like Iron Man than Batman... maybe not. Hope not anyway.

Personally, I rather like the techno batsuit, and Bale is deforming his chin enough in that shot that he actually slightly resembles my idea of Batman for a change. If that's even Bale. If it isn't, then they should get this guy instead.

The Joker sucks. Someone must have told them "Hey, let's make him laugh a little... you know, like the Joker is supposed to do?" and they took it way too literally and made him a complete goofball who has lost all pretense of seriousness in these photos.

Does anyone else think it's a crappy/creepier knockoff of Michael Keaton's "Beetlejuice" character which by the way, Michael Keaton "ROCKED!!"

What people are failing to realize is that the whole Nolan series is based around "Year One", "the long halloween", "killing joke"... etc. Its all reality based. Which is why our beloved Joker didn't fall into clown acid... instead he had one side of his face cut by Batmans zip-line and decided to even things out to give himself that charming ear-to-ear smile. Ledger looks fucking brilliant... and from what I've heard, he's captured the horrifying sociopathic, homicidal and psychotic tendencies so necessary for the Clown Prince Of Crime.

I'm just not digging the joker costume. it doesnt seem creepy or even interesting.
I've familiar with the actual comics, but I have to say...this just doesnt translate well to me. Nor did Nicholson.

I liked the joker the guy did on the youtube video, you know the actual well done small clip of a more Alex Ross batman, with alien and predator....I think that was surprising how well it worked.

if you havent seen it, try looking for it. I have no idea what the name is, but is actually batman fighting alien and predator.
