Chow Yun-Fat Lowered to Doing 'Dragonball'

In a brilliant casting move, Fox is getting an actual martial arts star to play a role in their movie about non-stop fighting, (based on the Japanese cartoon about non-stop fighting and, apparently, actual Dragon Balls) Dragonball. Often respectable actor Chow Yun-Fat has joined the live-action adaptation in the role of Master Roshi, Goku's mentor.
I know nothing about the original series, so you'll have to tell me if this makes sense. It sounds like the perfect way to add some slight credibility to a production that deserves none. And on that note, do you think there's any way we can resurrect George C. Scott to play Sgt. Slaughter in G.I. Joe?
PS: This is one of Hollywood Reporter's worst headlines in some time. "Chow rolls to Fox"? Like he's a ball, is that it? Jesus.
