Dec 20 2007Can You Believe They're Still Casting 'G.I. Joe'? Like It's a Real Movie or Something
I feel much the way about this G.I. Joe movie as I do about Scientology. As an outsider, I don't understand why it exists, what its purpose is, or how it keeps getting more and more people involved in what's obviously a bad idea. The latest to fall victim to the '80s nostalgia cash-in are Said Taghmaoui and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who will play "Breaker" and "Heavy Duty", respectively. That's right--despite all his time trapped on a deserted island, it will be surviving this shit storm that will truly test Mr. Eko's mettle.

Having too many characters will ruin a good movie. So having too many people cast for this shouldn't matter.

Whatever.
I wanna know about Cobra Commander!!!

Cobra Commander is being played by Britney Spears.
Why not right? They have already screwed up everything else about this movie. Yet again, the whacked left Hollywood types have taken something keenly pro-American (Go Joe!) and turned it into a wet willy international concept. What is GI Joe now? Some sort of transnational para-military rescue force or some crap?

Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me they've cast an Arab and a Nigerian and neither are playing terrorists? Clearly this movie has no basis in reality.

Im pretty excited about this movie really. I know that people are cashing in on the 80s and 90s nostalgia thing. But i mean don't judge it too harshly without seeing at least a little bit. i think it could be a disaster... but i wanna keep up hope. Maybe thats just cause i loved gi joe when i was little and hated transformers. haha. anyway..

Nock off the hating. G.i. Joe was the best or second best toy/cartoon/comicbook of the 80s. Depending on your loyalty to the Transformers,it could be them as number one or the Joes because they were like peas and carots. So the Transformers movie was kick ass, relax, this one should be kick as too. G.i. Joe is even more of a pop culture phenom than the Transformers anyway. They have been around in one form or another for over 50 years. Snake Eyes is the coolest character this side of Wolverine, and it's about damn time they put the Joes in a big screen movie. Call me a nerd, I couldn't give a shit. I love my Joes and am eagerly awaiting that movie. Gerard Butler as Destro would be awsome. Had to say it.
