Nov 14 2007Viggo Mortensen to be Stallone's Poe Boy?

News of who may be cast as Edgar Allen Poe in Sylvester Stallone's biopic, first meant to be written in the style of Poe, then changed to the style of something I'm more familiar with, the rhyming scheme of MTV's NeXt spoken when someone gets "nexted" and has to go back to the bus:

Stallone's looking for someone to play Poe
But for an actor, where should he go?
There were rumors he'd look to a "Hero"
and cast Ventimiglia, Milo,
but now he's looking to Viggo (Mortensen)
to quoth "nevermo'."
So it's back to the bus for J.T.; Chad's next!

(Note: the last line has nothing to do with the casting, but is necessary at the end of every NeXt poem.)

This is a disaster waiting to happen. What the fuck does Stallone know about poetry and literature? He can't even read a street sign. He's clearly just looking for cred and integrity in the twilight of his career, just like why Eastwood starting directing all those artsy movies.

Stallone's such a hack he'll probably give Viggo a nude fight scene, where his penis flops around everywhere like a bloated hobbit.

Oooh's got a point, except there's one problem:
Eastwood's movies are good. This one? Probably not so much.

The story came from CinemaBlend.com, not Slashfilm. Credit the right source guys. ;)

Yes, Oooh, except Clint Eastwood's movies are the most romantic unrequieted love stories ever. That guy Poe looks like a Freak with that moustache. Watch Stuff Guy is a great Poet. Viggo is Hot. I'm saying that a lot lately, I may need to get laid.

Who says Stallone can't read a street sign? He is educated. He has a bachelor of arts degree. He has proven his scriptwriting ability with Rocky 1. Just don't be too quick to judge. Who knows what he can write, now that he has aged.

I found his blogs on a celebrity and millioniare called (Millionairematch.com/photo/bloger). Some celebrities also think he is talented.

If they're looking for a look-a-like they should cast Dylan Moran... he looks very much like that picture of Mr.Poe... however I'm not sure Dylan Moran would make a very convincing 19th century writer of the macabre.
