Nov 29 2007More Rage-Inducing Images from 'Alvin and the Chipmunks'
As much as I hated the bizarre hip-hop version of the Chipmunks from the poster, this hardcore lesbian version is a far, far more terrifying alternative.
Look below the cut to see how their "Disco Chipmunks" version somehow ended up a confusing amalgam of Saturday Night Fever, pregnancy, and pubic hair.

I was gonna make some cliche comment about how hollywood has taken another beloved memory from my childhood and puked all over it with commercialism while missing the entire point and appeal of the source material.
Then I realized that I fucking hated the Chipmunks.
They're whiny and obnoxious. Alvin is an arrogant little snot, and Theodore's only life skill is crying helplessly until somebody helps him. They sold out in every conceivable way (anybody remember the Chipettes or "The Chipmunks go to the Movies?") They deserve all the hurt and humiliation this film will bring them. That way, when I get done watchng the film, and I get that queasy feeling in my bowels and my eyes have glassed over, it'll really bring me back to the Saturday morning viewings of their TV show.

There comes a time when someone needs to grab these directors by the neck and say, "This movie does not need to be made," then hold him still while someone else bitchslaps him until the lesson is taught.
Make a NEW movie, folks. Screenwriting...heard of it?

While I whole-heartedly agree with the general sentiment of most of these comments, I'd like to point out that no amount of director throttling will do any good. The medium is dead.

Where's the totally unwarranted hate that came with the release of the "hip hop" chipmunks poster? When people saw that one, there were over 40 comments directed toward how stupid they looked.

^That's because most of us (me included) assumed they were gonna be 'wiggermunks' throughout the whole movie.

So, are they are basically just playing paper dolls with these chipmunk images? The heads and positioning of the bodies hasn't changed from the hip-hop version to the punk version to the disco version. Thats pretty lazy.
