Nov 14 2007Max Headroom Joins 'Watchmen' Cast
It's a shame that, at any given point, there are a fairly limited number of strong roles for bald, kind of annoying guys who are growing gaunter and harder to stare at with each passing moment. Because as much as I like to see Max Headroom himself, Matt Frewer, on screen, I never seem to find him outside of voice work and an occasional guest spot (and, of course, in my daily viewings of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids).
Thankfully, Zack Snyder has recognized a way to use Frewer's unique, dying look in a high-profile film: as the cancer-stricken, demonic-looking villain Moloch in Watchmen. I can't wait to see this boney head on screen. Seriously.

Snyder must like Mr. Headroom because he was also in his remake of Dawn of the Dead

He looks like he should play Senator Larry Craig in the biopic.

FYI, Frewer is part of the cast of the excellent "Eureka."

Goddamn if that's not actually really good casting.
I'm looking forward to this for the same reason I was glad Alien Verse Predator came out. Cause then nobody could ever again say "when are they gonna make that movie? It miiiiiiight be good!"

I thought that was Stephen King.

This guy has always been underrated. He always delivers solid performances and reminds me of James Cromwell.
I am very excited about this movie, it really looks like it's being treated with respect.

i see that someone already mentioned his role on Eureka, Sci Fi's nod to
"that funny little town" type of monotony...
his australian accent is SO bad, so poorly practiced and so damned wrong it's impossible to watch him in it. tho he does get some sight-gags in that are fun.
i hope to gawd he dives into a Watchmen role with both hands and actually becomes a believable character - something he's lacked for years...

He is also on a Canadian TV show called Intelligence, which is really quite good. Also I have some inside info that there may be another Max Headroom series in the works. Matt know owns the rights to the character (only just recently) and is looking to cash in. Might be a Max and son venture.
