I'm not sure if this is meant to look more like a Highlander sequel, a time-traveling version of The Punisher, or the muddled, last-minute Halloween costume, "Elvira Zorro," but I do like that they've lit it with a single spotlight, letting us know up front that this will have the same production values as a high school play.

I'm strangely reminded of the LotR posters that had Aragorn's face half-hidden and lit by a single spotlight. At least, that's how they exist in my head.

They are trying to give Robert E. Howard's Solomon Kane character the Conan treatment. While Howard's Conan translated well to the big screen, I'm not sure how audiences will react to a vengence seeking puritan.

The character in the poster reminds me more of Van Helsing.

Hopefully its just his mark anthony character now with added hat and long hair.

Highlander-Conan-Punisher-Zorro-Aragorn-Van Helsing? This movie is starting to sound cool now... I may have to keep an eye on it.

This might sound like a highlander, van helsing, punisher, conan, zorro, aragorn mix up, but it is a million times cooler than that, and has been around for quite a bit longer (except for Conan).

The Van Helsing movie was a blatant rip off of Solomon Kane, a witch hunting, demon killing puritan who kicks ass for the lord, but Solomon Kane is going to be much more brutal.

Solomon Kane debuted four years before Conan. "Red Shadows" was published in 1928, "The Phoenix on the Sword" in 1932.

And yes, it is MUCH cooler than "just" a Highlander-Van Helsing-Punisher-Conan-Zorro-Aragorn mixup.

Most people will think Soloman Kane is a Van Helsing ripoff. The truth is that Van Helsing completely ripped off Soloman Kane. Robert E. Howard is my favorite author and when I saw Van Helsing (while it was a great movie) I was a little pissed to be honest.
