Oct 12 2007'The Eye' Trailer Up in Ya Eye
When Hollywood needs horror, there's one foreign culture that always delivers: the Japanese. Their unique blend of sexual repression and futuristic technology infallibly produces terrifying ideas that can be remade in America as "The ________ (Ring, Grudge, Tentacle Rapist, etc.)"
The latest of this breed, The Eye, shows us what would happen if Jessica Alba had the eyes of Geordi La Forge, but then had them replaced with the eyes of Sixth Sense kid. Or they might just be eyes that are constantly playing The Grudge. It's hard to tell.

UPDATE: Thanks for pointing out it was originally a Chinese film. So you can disregard the first paragraph, though it's still largely true.

Nice try. The original is a CHINESE film. And it has a *gasp* twist ending on par with The Mothman Prophecies!? Me likey bery mucho!

Hmm... this would be literally the first time I've seen the Asian version before they even thought about doing a remake. Hollywood's getting sloppy!

The scariest Asian movie BY FAR is 'Shutter'. It's Thai. It's TERRIFYING.
But no one's going to say the Pang Brothers don't know a thing or three about frightening. Hollywood is just going to screw it up.
They're going to screw up Shutter, too. I hear it's in the works...

actually it wasn't a Chinese film either. It was originally a Thai film directed by the pang brother Oxide and Danny

i was actually looking forward to a remake, but the second i saw jessica alba's name attached i realized it was going to suck. what a shame.

I love the original, and The Eye 2 was just as good. I was really disappointed in the Pang Brothers' attempt at making a movie in the US though (The Messengers). And of course, as already mentioned, ANY movie with Jessica Alba sucks. It just does. :(

It was fucking indonesian! actually who gives a fuck? jessica alba sucks at acting but at least dane cook isn't in it. i wish someone would actually cut dane cook's eyes out, and while they're at it, cut off his head, call me, and let me shit down his throat

Who cares what Asian country it's from! What really gets to me is that Asians could actually be considered SEXUALLY REPRESSED! Especially by American's who are the MOST sexually repressed culture in the world (Hypocritical Puritanism)... anyone ever watch a Japanese game show? Those things are FAR from repressed

Dear all, the original movie is created by Hong Kong with the name . May be it is meaningless to someone outside Asia, but I myself like this movie very much. It is seldom to have horror movie whih its sence is REALLY horrible.

What? Every Asian movie I ever watched ended with WTF? There is no ending to it. It is like they come with couple endings ,scramble them together and put it out ther that doesn't make any sense..Am I the only one who thinks that way.And believe me I love scary movies.

I've actually seen the original of this, and it isn't very good. It's suprising because every original Asian film is so much better than the remake that the Americans seem to think is necessary, but I actually think the remake of this one could be a lot better than the original.
The original basically goes on and on and on and you keep thinking it will finish until after about four false starts or so, it finally does. It's okay... But I wouldn't exactly choose to watch it again.
THAT IS MY REVIEW.
Jessica Alba is hot though so I'll probably...download this.
