Oct 3 2007'Mummy 3' Director Delivers Unsolicited Images
On his blog, RobCohenTheMummy.com (which sounds like a sad The Mummy fan's AOL screen name), director Rob Cohen has posted some images from The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. As the name implies, the film hopes to capitalize on the vague American interest in Asian culture created by Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts and Chinese lanterns by introducing Jet Li as an Asian mummy.
Above is the first image of Maria Bello as Evelyn. If you're anything like me, your reaction will be "who's Evelyn?" It turns out that was the role Rachel Weisz mercifully dropped after the first two Mummies. You probably know the part as "the big buffoon's British idiot girlfriend."

Evie was a fucking legendary character when played by Rachel Weisz and I will never ever see this movie without her in it. Ever.

They were actually married, so that would make her the big buffoon's British idiot wife.
They should have left her out completely instead of re-casting it. This isn't helping me want to see this movie.

Maria Bello is so miscast as Evie that its sad. She's not in the same league as Rachel Weisz in terms of acting and looks.

Buello is a good actress although not an Oscar winner like Weisz (For a good example of Buello's work, look at A History of Violence).
Evie will always be Weisz to me, though.

I learned my lesson when I nay sayed Daniel Craig as the new Bond. I always give them a chance cause I was way off with Craig, he rocked out that role.

James Bond and the Mummy are two different types of films, so to try to compare them is stupid. people are used for Bond being played by different actors, the character of Evelyn has been played by perfection by Rachel Weisz in the first two films and she brought a sense of wit, charm and strong will to the character. Maria Bello does not look good in the role and she will not live up or come close to what Rachel has done with the character.
Maria is not half the actor Rachel is.

Hmmm. I wonder if Maria Bello will show her titbits and fuzzy wuzzy like she does in every film.
