As much as I hate speculating about blood, I do like this new teaser poster for Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood. Unfortunately, their little tagline equation of ambition meeting faith causing bloodshed has a flaw. They forget that sometimes ambition plus faith equals people making little crosses made of popsicle sticks and decorating them with glitter. Always one of the two, though.

The trailer is also up on the AICN page linked to here. And I'd like the say that today I've gone from never having heard of this movie to being flamingly gay for it with breakneck speed.

It is amazing that one well known typically respectable actor's name can give credibility to a the poster immediately. Otherwise the poster would be cheesy. I hate it when marketing works on me.
And that trailer was awesome. I like those. Small enough to not give the friggin story away but strong enough to get you curious.

I hate that what looks to be an interesting, high-caliber picture just put me in mind of those fucking Saw pictures by virtue of its title.

"There Will Be Blood" wasn't that the tag line for the second or third saw movie?
I checked and "Oh, yes. There will be blood" was one of the tag lines for Saw2....
I knew it seemed familiar!
